Reboot the computer if the printer is local. Or, type services.msc in run / search. Scroll down to Print Spooler and start by right clicking. You have a bigger problem if this fails to start. Like you may not be an Administrator.

Starting the Print Spooler on a networked printer (at work) is the same, only it must be done by an IT admin on the Print Server.

SOURCE: print spooler service not running on Windows XP

Spooler depends on the RPC service being running. But you really need to get into event viewer and check for anything related to either RPC or Print Spooler. If you're trying to print to a network printer you could have firewall issues either within Windows or your router. Think about what changed on your system around the time this problem began.

Hi there,
Print spooler not running is not the printer error, it happens when the print spooler service starts working in windows, For making it enable you dont have to reinstall the drivers for the printer, as print spooler service is for every printer, even if you put another printer the result will be the same
To Enable Print Spooler Open Control Panel
Go to administrative Tools>Services (For Windows XP Users)
Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Tools( for windows 7 users)
Open Services Find Print Spooler in the list
Right click the service and make it stop, if its already stop set it to Start and then again give prints
Double click on the service and set "Startup type to AUTOMATIC". You should now be able to get prints from your printer
Now restart your desktop/laptop and check if the service is still working by giving any test print.
Hope it will solve your issue
If you require more assistance, regarding this topic feel free to reply

Hp laser jet 1150 have stopped printing

Check the spooler is running:
"Control panel"
"administrative tools"
"Services"
Double click "print spooler"
Check that startup type is "automatic"
Check the "service status" to see if the spooler is "started". If not select "start" (if it's already started try stopping then restarting the service"
Try to Print.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if it does, and if not, please provide the EXACT message you receive when you try to print.

Will not receive print message from computer, will print test pag

Hi there, try to stop and restart the print spooler (control panel/Administrative Tools/Services, scroll down until you find Print Spooler, then double click on it. Stop button and then start), and try to print again. If that didn't solve the problem, it must be a printer drivers problem. Try to roll back the old drivers under printer properties.
Good luck
