If water is not going away then it is likely the drain hose is blocked, the filter plate is blocked or the kitchen sink drain is blocked. check the garbage disposal unit if used in the kitchen sink has been operated and clear of rubbish before you operate dishwasher. Need make and model number of dishwasher to get a better idea.

SOURCE: Water not pumping away

Since water doesn't drain out ,it could be a clogged in the drain line. Often the problem is at the point where the drain line attaches to the garbage disposer or household drain line. You should remove this line and clear it form any debris in the hose or the hose connection. Be sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again. It could be as well a defective or a malfunction pump. Let me know if you will need for further assistance. Good luck!

SOURCE: Bosch Dishwasher SHV4313GB/17 Wont switch off !

Introduction: This may work for your problem, but only if you're finding that you cannot get further water to flow into your machine. If your machine fills OK, then this ISN'T a solution to your problem. If your machine doesn't fill but your drain motor continues to hum for no apparent purpose, this may work.

I have a Bosch SHV. My sink drain backed up, and the water accumulating in the sink then migrated to the dishwasher, through the drain pipe, causing the dishwasher to fill up and, it turned out, overflow a little. When I turned on the dishwasher, the water drained, but no new, clean water came through the hot water pipe. The drain just kept running, but nothing else happened.

Here's what happened. Under the main chamber of the dishwasher, by three inches or more, is a white plastic tray. It sits almost at the floor, and it may not be obvious that it's a tray capable of holding water. The overflow water spilled into that tray, which in turn caused a float in the far left side of the tray to lift (the way a toilet float lifts when the water fills in a toilet tank) and shut off the water intake valve (like the toilet float shuts off the toilet water flow). So long as that valve is closed, your machine will not run.

STOP: disconnect power supply at this point for safety.

To see the white plastic tray and thereby fix the problem, you'll need to take off the BLACK TOE-KICK (attached on my unit by two star-head screws at its bottom) and, possibly , the OUTER PANEL OF THE DISHWASHER DOOR (in my case, a custom wood panel (attached by a few screws through the inner side of the door, two screws that are accessed by popping off little--smaller than a dime size--covers on the sides of the doors, and then the door panel lifts up and out). (I took the outer panel off, but I can't remember if I would have had to reach into the white tray without doing so.)

Once you do that, you can see the white plastic tray. It doesn't come out--at least not without removing the entire machine--so try this. You can take your fingers and feel over and into the tray. You'll probably feel the water--I did. Look at the far left of the tray with a flashlight. Back there you'll see a flat, round, 3-inch diameter piece of white plastic sitting at the bottom of the tray. To its center is a generally U-shaped lever looking device, which, at its far left end, is connected to a red stick pointing up into the machine. When water goes into the tray, the float rises, causing the U-shaped lever to rise, causing the red stick to raise, which (though I couldn't see it) causes an electrical signal to run to, and shut, the valve for your water intake.

I took paper towels, and then a narrowly cut sponge, to sop up the water in the tray. I then took my shop vac and, using it as a blower, blew what little water was left right out. You might be able to use a hair dryer, but first sop out what you can or it'll take forever. Once you've done that, put everything back together and plug your dishwasher back in. My buttons are at the top panel. To reset, hold down the two buttons marked for clear drain for three seconds and release. You should be able to start up then. It took 15 seconds before the water started to run, but it did and the machine works fine again.

Interesting note: The valve that stopped the water from flowing in automatically opened once I got the water out of the tray. You don't need to reset the valve.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Pump Runs On After Water Is All Drained Out?

If the cycle does not stop draining that is usually because of a faulty water level switch that controls the water level in your appliance.
The faulty sensor cause the machine to think that there is still water inside, even when water has drained completely.
Check if the floating sensor is stuck or faulty.
Some machine may use a membrane switch instead of a floater.

Pool water will not circulate even though pump is running

if the water doesnt circulate, there could be many causes. start at the very beginning. does the pump sound 'normal'? if there is rattling or buzzing, the pump might not be turning and there fore no circulation. is there water in the system? even though most pumps are 'self priming', you should fill the hopper with water to prime it. are the lines open? make sure the supply to pump from skimmer is free of blockage and that the return lines to pool are open and free from blockage. if all this looks fine, then you have to get deeper into diagnosis.

If I move the agitator manually I can hear water splashing inside even though it is empty and dry

When you move the agitator, your are also turning the motor which is connect to the pump. The water sound you are hearing is the water that is left in the pump.

At beginning of waswch cycle, water flows in. Then it stops and the cycle doesn't continue even though the countdown timer continues. Water flows out freely.

when the water comes in to dishwasher the wash pump should start if you hear a hummimg sound it means that the wash pump is either blocked or the capasitor on the pump is faulty or maybe the pump it self needs to be replaced

Saeco Italia SUP021 YR green lights and red water light flashing

You can't manually reset. The machine will have to do it. I had the same problem, two green flashing lights with one red (water) all 3 would just keep flashing and not turn solid. No coffee can be made or hot water. I could not pump prime. The problem was the steam wand was blocked with old milk residue. It needs unblocking or you will never pump prime. I could not unscrew the steam wand...so I let it sink in a glass full of hot water for a few minutes and then turned the water knob counter clockwise to push out the softened residue. After that, everything was good. When water started flowing out of the steam wand, the red light turned off and the green lights turned solid. The obvious answer to why you can't pump prime is there is a blockage somewhere and best to start with the steam wand. --Mabada

My unit doesnt pump and the fire will only light for a couple seconds

Does the low battery light come on straight away even though it is fully charged? My unit did this and I found the impeller for the pump stuck. Try taking off the filter off the end of the pump get a nail or long screw and spin / free the impeller and try and use the coleman again. If this works I suggest cleaning the unit as per the book with clr etc

sounds like a bad pump you can have it checked by a shop with a scope , they will check it from the pattern to volume and press. even though you hear it doesnt mean its working as it should.

I hear a sound like the fan belt sqeaking, I know there is only one belt and that belt is still on . first it made a sound like a tire was leaking air then i heard the sqeaking under the hood

belts can still sqeak even though they are still on, check the condition of the belt, is it craked?, glazed? spray some silicon spray on it while its running and see if it goes away. the belt driven accesories can also make noise, alternator, steering pump, water pump, idler, tensioner, a/c compressor. use a long screwdriver like a stethescope and see if one belt driven acessory makes more noise than the others, just be careful of moving parts.

Noise when car is started

Sounds like the starter stays "sticked"on... Check the starter relay or after the sound goes away touch the starter for heat. If its too hot it means it stays on working even when the engine is allready running...
