Hello cubernesis - The cycling thermostat of the dryer may need replacing. There could possibly be a malfunction in the thermostat in the return, so if it gets too hot on the auto dry cycle - it stops and will not re-start until it cools down. This could be caused by either lint or something else clogging the vent - thus causing it to overheat. You should be able to feel the top of the dryer right at the back of the top - near the console right after it shuts off. If it is getting too hot to the touch look to the items I have mentioned. Should you find that these suggestions are ineffective, may we suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately who will be able to diagnose the problem.

My Electrolux double oven goes from "bake" to "warm oven " after about 1 hour. I try to use the other oven and it will go start to "warm oven"

is the bake element getting hot?when you put the oven on bake both the broil and bake elements come on,if just the broil element is getting hot it might take it an hour to heat up.you might just have a bad bake element,if the bake element isn't hidden does is turn red? if not it's not getting hot.

Lamona 4601 double oven.Stopped heating up so presumed element had packed in?

Try this. ANSWER is not specific to your machine.
You dont need the element to be red hot to know its working,
If its not obviously getting hot after 30 seconds its not working.
I dampen a cloth and wipe the COLD element and then watch the moisture dissapear quickly if the element is working.
First, have you recently done a self-clean cycle?
If so we can suspect that the OVER HEAT cutoff switch was triggered.
BUT before we conclude anything, check the broiler element for operation.
If the broiler also does not work, then its highly likely that the overtemp cutoff relay was triggered. This generally requires a technician. BUT
If you have a schematic, it will show if this switch is a ONE TIME USE SWITCH and needs to be replaced, OR if it is a pushbutton resetable switch. In either case the oven needs to be dismantled somewhat to get at the switch... I would call a technicain.

Element getting to hot

The element will get red hot but if you feel it is getting to hot then you have a heat sensor that is not functioning properly and needs to be replaced.

Why is my freezer hot and i can see like red like its hot and the plastic is warped like melted. I can hear it running but its not getting cold

If you are seeing red hot while freezer is running your defrost element is staying on. there could be a short in the defrost timer or in the wiring to the heater. otherwise the red glow can be normal. the melted plastic is a concern. there is a limiting thermostat connected to the elemnt to keep it from getting too hot.. check the timer first.

Last night, we were using our Frigidaire oven to heat some salmon. My wife openned the oven door and there was a bright flash with sparks and a crackling noise, and a 1/2 inch portion of the element caught...

Kill the power to the stove. L2 is always hot to the element. If it welded itself to the frame whats left of the element stays hot. Easy fix but power needs to be OFF

Dryer is running fine just not getting hot

It sounds like the thermal fuse or heating element are defective. Both components are easily checked with an ohm meter or multimeter. The fuse is usually inside the back of the dryer by the exhaust duct. Both components should have continuity, if not they need to be replaced. Sure hope this helped.

Dryer not drying.Possible heating element not

One way to check if the element is working - is take the exost hose off the back & place a mirror behind the dryer so you can see if its glowing red hot or not..

Heating element is getting red hot - like a heater.

No the first thing I would check is the vent going outside may be cloged the air going across the heating element should keep it from glowing real bright
