There should be a code in the software booklet that makes the program read your dongle.

Cant calibrate tony hawk shred board to my wii. I've tried everything

At last! My Son's Tony Hawk Shred board was one more try from being thown down the garden, as i have been trying since Christmas day, & finally there it was a board i could use. I've followed all bits of advice in a number of differant ways --- here's what worked for me, Turn off at the wall Sky TV, Turn off all lights (only tv turned on), put my crutches in another room (because large metal objects interfere with soft ware), Remove dog from room, Put senser bar on floor, Turn Wii console side on so that Dongle faced away from tv (aiming into centre of room), Place Shred board on floor facing tv/senser at about three feet away. Start process of game set up untill you get to choose a profile, Select profile, press & hold for 5 secs start button on board untill the four blue lights start to flash at a rate of about one flash per sec, then hold on same button untill blue lights flash quickly, then press & hold Dongle button untill Dongle light stays on, with in 2 secs game calibartion instructions start, BEWARE Tony Hawks responce when process starts is as annoying as not being able to get board started. Good luck when up & running it is one Awesome game!

I have been trying to calibrate the Tony hawk shred game on wii for over 3 hours now I got it for Christmas and have tried hundreds of different positions and distances and about everything why won't it...

try this it seems to be working The key to maintaining connectivity is to make sure that the sensor on the dongle is perpendicular to the board. We'd first installed the dongle so that the sensor was parallel to the board, and the board refused to connect. This was because we installed the dongle and kept the front of the console facing us. So, it looked like this:

***
*S*
*E*
*N*
*S*
*O*
*R*
***

***
*B*
*O*
*A*
*R*
*D*
***

But when we turned the Wii console so that the sensor was perpendicular to the board, the reaction time and motion detector sensitivity improved SIGNIFICANTLY. We discovered the key for improved performance is keeping as much of the surface area of the dongle sensor facing the board as possible! That way the signals coming from the board have a much greater likelihood of hitting the dongle sensor.

Here's the configuration we're now using with great success:

******************
*SENSOR on DONGLE*
******************

***
*B*
*O*
*A*
*R*
*D*
***

You can even swing the board around 360 degrees and it will keep good connectivity and motion control. (Btw,...if we hadn't figured this solution out, I'd have rated the game package a "zero" and returned it.) Thanks again Rick

Try turning your WII so that the dongle that comes with the game faces the skateboard. I had that same problem and this solved it.

IT TOOK 1.5 HOURS TO SYNC UP AND CALIBRATE A NEW TONY HAWK RIDE SKATE BOARD WITH A Wii.
THE ON-LINE DIRECTIONS AND TROUBLESHOOTING = SUX!.

PLEASE FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS IF YOUR HAVING THE SAME ISSUE:
1) Remove skateboard battery's for 1 minute
2) Reinstall 4 new/fully charged AA Battery's in the Tony Hawk RIDE Skateboard.
3) Plug the Tony Hawk Wireless USB Dongle into the "upper" WII USB Port,
Turn on the WII,
Insert the Tony Hawk Ride game disk
Keep pressing A on the WII Controller till you get to the Error Screen saying:
*Unable to SYNC up the skateboard with the WII*
4) Make sure the WII and the plugged in wireless USB Dongle are laying on the floor in front of the wireless skateboard "sideways" with the wireless dongle towards the right side of the WII.
5) The directions state to 1st press the wireless USB dongle reset/Sync button, then the so called Start button on the board, which did not work 100 different times.
6) Instead (on the side of the board) all 4 of the blue LED lights were on. Now press and hold the button which is the Start/Home/blue little house/C- looking Button on the side of the board for 5 seconds. The Blue LED lights should now all be off!

8) After the Dongle sync

Problem getting wii GUITAR working with RockBand 2 after a resync

first of all you should make sure you have fresh batteries and then try the special resynch via the red dot like button on the inside of the controller (press it at the same time as the one in sd card slot) if that doesnt work try just moving closer to the wii at far distance the controller signal gets weak. if its not that then its a hardware issue
