After 2 minutes top washer blinks. Water does not drain
We have had the dishwasher for about 8 months in our new home. It had been working well. Then we noted that the top drawer would start to blink at about 2 minutes when the screen would start beeping and blinking on and off. We would then have to hit the power button. When I opened the top drawer the water seems to be accumulating in the drawer and no water is draining. The drain tube appears normal and not kinked in any way.

In a consumer cycle, the appliance is indicating F8 E1 (slow/no draining). This is because of wrong signals from the circulation pump read by the control board and interpreted as "water present", when there is no water. During draining (and in fact, there is no water), the failure occurs.
1. Check if drain hose is not closed/clogged
2. Drain pump faulty, harness or wiring faulty, control board faulty
3. If machine is equipped with OWl, issue might be caused by damaged or dirty OWl. Clean the sensor lenses then , if issue is not solved, replace OWI (optical water indicator).
Confirm that the door is closed and latched. dishwashers can detect if the door is open and will cancel any cleaning cycles to prevent water spillage. Wait for around 20 minutes before unplugging or moving the dishwasher in case the washer is cooling down, draining or drying dishes. Call a technician if the dryer does not restart.
Verify that a cycle has been selected using the "Cycles" button and that the "Start/Resume" button has been pressed. Unlike some models of dishwasher, appliances won't start until you select a cleaning cycle and press the "Start/Resume" button.
Confirm that the dishwasher's electrical outlet is switched on, if necessary, and that power is being supplied by plugging in a lamp. You may need to replace a fuse or reset a breaker on the electrical circuit if the lamp will not work in the outlet. Ensure that the dishwasher is plugged into the outlet.
Ensure that the water shutoff valves at the wall are open and that the supply hoses are free of kinks. Your washer will not start if it is unable to access the water supply. Most shutoff valves need to be turned clockwise or moved to the "Open" position to work properly.
Open the door and check the overfill float in the bottom of the dishwasher. Push it down to make sure it can move up and down freely. The machine will not start if the sensor is stuck at the top. The overfill float looks like a small cone on top of a disc with a paddle attached to the side.

error means that the flood switch has been activated. You'll need to reset it by powering off the
breaker or by unplugging the unit from the power socket and mains for more than
five minutes. Please check that there is no blockage in the drain hose and it
is not raised higher otherwise the water will run back to the dishwasher. Also
perform the following procedure---
Unplug power and
remove bottom dish drawer
a Sponge and dry all the excess water underneath
circuit board cover
all around and underneath as much as possible
hairdryer for 10-15min
Please rate the solution if the issue is resolved or
else revert for further assistance.
use only cascade complete cleaner, clean unit remove basket motor cover chopper cover clean and vac out trash washer all screens increase water temp. to 130 degrees if no children in home if children in home not over 125 degrees temp. monthly run dishwasher cleaner product through waser cost around 10 $ at lowes
Peace, Cut off the power at the breaker for 5 minutes and then turn it on and see if the system resets!
The machine was in your home 3 years , and used for more than that by someone else! I can tell you by the model that its at least 10 years old!
appliances more than 9 years old cost you money to run and fix! Throw it out and do not put good money into bad!
The new ones no matter how inexpensive will wash better and cost you a hell of a lot less to operate. They are so much more energy efficient today that they pay for them selves in a couple of years! With a new machine watch your water and power bill go down!!!
Other wise you need hands on service! if you got the money do it new!
Hello, I have just installed a similar model, and took the side panel off to see how it was put together ;)
The drain hose goes in the back of the dishwasher, then loops up the right side (as you are looking at the front)(this is to act as a "trap" to keep sewer gases from coming back into your washer, I assume), and then connects to the drain pump under the washer.
In order the change the hose, you will need to remove the left side panel, and the bottom panel, and this will give you access to the entire hose....
Stew, Im not really sure what model you have 665, 587, 363 or what. If it's a 665, it sounds like the wash motor is not getting power. Remove the toe panel and look at the start capacitor. See if one of the wires came off during the reinstallation. Should be on the left side of the wash motor. If one of the wires is off, wash motor won't run. If that's ok, check the main harness to the motor. Catriver
simple one this, just clear out the waste pipe and the inside food filter and the outlet pump, also check the outlet where the pipe goes (under the sink?) its a simple blockage somewhere, if i have helped rate me, and work safe remove the plug etc
