WARNING: Before you start troubleshooting remember that you are dealing with electricity that can KILL. http://www.kitchentablecomputers.com/static.php - rules Only work inside the computer case when the power has been switched off and disconnected. Never open the power source. Some of the below steps recommend removing physical parts within the computer. While in the computer it is highly recommend that you be aware of ESD and its potential hazards Remove the memory modules from their slots. Take the opportunity to clean the slots on the motherboards and the memory module connectors. Use compressed air to blow dust away and clean contacts with a soft cloth. Do not use a metallic vacuum cleaner if it touches any component it may create a short and cause damage to the motherboard or other components. Do not use solvent that may attract dust and never poke things like cotton buds in to slots. lightly rub an alcohol on a cloth not to hard let the alcohol do the work on the copper gold or silver tabs and r Allow the pins to dry. They will air dry in a matter of minutes. If reseating the memory did not resolve the issue try swapping the location of the memory. If you have only one stick of memory in the computer try moving it to another slot and then boot the computer. Check the memory module and memory slot contacts. They are either copper tin or gold. The colour will tell you which they are. Mixing tin and gold can result in corrosion that prevents proper contact. Look for any sign of physical damage to the memory module, memory slots or the motherboard. Reseat the memory modules. You should hear an audible click when they are in place. Do not use too much force to reseat the memory module in to the slot this can cause damage to the module, slot or motherboard.

Hope this helps

Step 1:
There are a number of possible causes for BOOTMGR errors, including the most common "BOOTMGR is missing" error message.

The most common reasons for BOOTMGR errors include corrupt and misconfigured files, hard drive and operating system upgrade issues, corrupt hard drive sectors an outdated BIOS and damaged or loose IDE cables

Anothe reason you might see BOOTMGR errors is if your PC is trying to boott from a hard drive or flash drive that is not properly configured to be booted from. In other words, it's trying to boot from a non-bootable source. This also would apply to media on an optical drive or floppy drive that you're trying to boot from. make sure there are no disks in cd floppy usb drives Test all power and data leads that attach to your hard drive IDE,SATA the leads from your ((MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE)) make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty if its a flat ribbon 40 pin IDE it will be the fist to fail Make sure all power and data leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs Data and Power to travel through every working device and to continue its cycle and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error. also make sure you have set it boot from you hard drive in BIOS Restart your computer and enter BIOS mode. On most computers this is done by pressing the Delete ot F2 key but will vary depending on your computers bios other keys Acer: - Ctrl+Alt+Esc , ALR PC: (F2) or (Ctrl)(Alt)Esc) , Award BIOS: (Del) or (Ctrl)(Alt)(Esc).

Scroll over to the "Hard Drives" tab, and make sure your computer has the hard drive assigned to be on. Often during BIOS you can select auto-detect or change options with your hard drive to make sure Windows can recognize it. Once you've selected your desired options, continue to boot.

When I restart with the boot disk I made (or the intstallation disk) the computer starts up normally. I am not being prompted to scrub it. Help!

you need to change the boot order of the computer to boot from cd instead of hard drive.

When you first start up the computer you should see a message to press to enter setup the most common keys are:
  • Delete
  • F1
  • F2
  • F3
  • F5
  • F10
  • Escape
  • Insert
  • Control + Escape
  • Alt + Escape
  • Control + Alt + Escape
  • Control + Alt + Enter
Once you've entered setup you should be able to find a selection something to the effect of boot order chage the fist boot selection or primary boot device to the CD rom so that the computer will boot from the boot disk instead of the hard drive

My western digital 1tb external hard disk freeze my pc when i conected i must restart after restart is ok

every system has a limit to the devices that can be connected to them.1tb is a very large memory and is capable of making the system or the hard disk freeze causing you to restart.it is most probably that your system cannot utilize it while it is on and so has to be re-boot so as to make the hard disk boot up with the system.one very good sign of this is if your system takes a bit of longer time to boot with the hard disk connected from the start,if so my advice is for you to upgrade your system.like the ram and processors should be increased.hope this was helpful?
