A usb ethernet adapter does not cost much and no troubleshooting needed.
I assume your trying to get your built-in card to trigger have you checked the bios to be certain it is enabled.
and go to control panel check the system device manager to see what it says about the ethernet.
does it show up under my network places and if it does is it bridged. Get properties on it.

hia,
you need a network key for wireless connection to get authorized and allow your PC to connect.
make sure you have right key if security is enabled on wireless router.
now if you are entering right key then need to make sure which type of encryption router is using by going into router settings as an emaple WEP,WAP,TES etc...and make sure your computer wireless settings are same as this type.
let me know if you need more info in detail or step by step.
Thanks.

can you connect to the internet using any other devices. If not the problem is likely that the modem is not able to logon to your isp
you will need to get access to the modem (try typing either "home" or "192.168.1.254" into the address bar of your web browser, this should bring you to the settings for your modem/router. If your ISP is AT&T then you will want to run the setup wizard (about halfway down on the right hand side of the page) when prompted enter your isp provided email address and password.
if you have an isp other than "ma bell" the problem is likely the same, though the solution might require a call to thier tech support line.

Have you updated your firmware on your Archos 101? If you can get to a public wifi hotspot like at a McDonalds or Starbucks you should be able to download the latest firmware (you can force the tablet to check for it by going to Settings - About Device - Firmware Update).
The latest firmware included several fixes for WiFi issues that previous firmware versions struggled with.
I would try that, attempt to connect again at home, and if it's still not working switch your troubleshooting focus to the router itself.
I suggest to reinstall the wireless card driver first ..just in case, this will solve any driver issues and will make it functional in case the driver or the setting are corrupted..
To download the driver in case you do not have it on disk or saved somewhere ..just go to acer.com ...select downloads ...drivers and select the model and operation system you use..
download the wifi driver ..run it again ..and after that restart ..and try to make the connection again ...Check the wireless card in device manager to see if it shows in order ...and did not appear in yellow which indicates driver related issues..
also be sure you have network signal ..and the router is functional ..in case other computer is working with this network ..check to see if the connection actually works ..
To redo the connection ..just open the settings for wireless...and click scan for networks ...In the list of available connections ..select yours..and click connect ..insert password if needed.
Good luck !
