Oh, I could just scream. Just last weekend I went to clean up after putting all the Christmas stuff away, but my bagless Windtunnel won't turn on. It appears as though the switch is broken. This vacuum cleaner is barely over a year old.

With the way the economy is I can't afford to purchase a new one. I guess I will call Hoover this evening to see what they can...or should I say, will do.

My hoover wind tunnel just quit while vacuuming. It is dead??? Two years old used about every other week? Any suggestions?

Some Wind Tunnels by Hoover have a poor design in the switch on the handle. Sometimes the switch does not turn on all the way and will stop running. Other times you can't turn the unit off.

Can not find a proper fitting v-belt to fit my hoover wind tunnel cyclonic. i even ordered it from hoover.

The correct belt is # 38528034 ( package # 40201200 ) This belt may seem loose when it is installed, because there is an "idler bearing" that pushes down on it when the handle is released and dropped back.

The on off switch is stuck in the on position. I can'tfigure how to take the handle apart. Where can I find an on-line manual? Hoover wind tunnel up-right.

On the windtunnel the switch is not in the handle. It is located in the top of the body housing underneath where the handle meets the body. The slide lever you are pushing on to make the machine run is just a push rod.

Replace the rocker switch inside the handle. Part #28161067, it's about $2.50.

How do I replace the on-off switch on a Hoover Wind Tunnel vacuum model U6630-9000?

Take off the handle, then remove the tool compartment, then you can access the switch.

Hoover Wind Tunnel 2 won't stay on

Possible that the switch is bad, part #40309033, take the handle off, then the tool compartment, then you can get to the switch, almost bet that one of the contacts is bad.

How to remove handle from Hoover 5445-900 upright wind tunnel vacuum

Hoover.com doesn't have a manual specific to your model but there is one similar which will show how to remove the upper handle from the body.

http://www.hoover.com/pdfs/manuals/U5467900.pdf

Do you have a replacement switch? If not I believe you can buy one from Hoover (the switch and/or the upper handle assembly). Unfortunately your model isn't listed on the website, is this a new vacuum? I recommend giving them a call, that would be the easiest way.

Also remember when working with electronics to unplug the vacuum. Even when there is no power residual electricity can remain in the wires. If you feel unsure, take it to a repairman.

Hope this helps!
