Deck, Sub and Amp Problems

Just got a new Kenwood Excelon X792, used JL12W6v2 and Kenwood 9152D. Hooked it up everything worked fine then i had to mount the amp so disconnected amp and sub. Hooked back up and now my deck works fine for 5 minutes or so then it turns off sometimes it comes back on while driving. Sometimes when i restart my vehicle it comes back on. I sottered my wiring harness and it is mounted sturdily and wiring harness is not coming out when i hit bumps what would cause the deck to turn off

Check for any loose connections at the fuse block or a loose fuse
using an ohm meter would help
check the harness on the back of the radio for loose connection
bad igntion switch, again an ohm meter would help !
what type vehicle ?

Hello mogly20,

The amp probably won't know if it's you or the homeless guy, so try smashing a glass bottle on it like he did. If that doesn't work, I'd recommend you locate another homeless guy and buy another amp.

Hope this helps.

I have the kenwood kac-8104d amp and it lights up and everything, but it doesnt power my subs hooked up to it. I have no idea why because theres power going through andd the amp is turning on. Any help?

Check your RCA's from the amp to the deck, make sure it's on an output not an input on an aftermarket deck, and the input, not the pass thru on the amp. If you have it hooked up to a factory deck, you've opened a whole new can of worms! If its a factory Deck; Post the make and model of the unit if you can find it, as well as the vehicle year make and model. I get as much info as I can on it and walk you thru the details. If it's aftermarket and you've checked the above, post the make and model of the deck and I'll do the same. Hope this helps

One amp dies.. then revives

I'm no expert, but the two most obious problems that come to mind would be the power supply or amp over heating.  Test your battery and alternator..

Amp not working

1. Did you witness this amp ever working if not then you may have a blown amp. Hook up the speakers, get a portable player with a head phone jack get one of those cables with a headphone plug on one end and RCA's on the other plug the portable player into the amp and hit play. If sound comes out then your problems are elsewhere. If not I'm afraid your amp is probably toast. If the OHM rating of the speakers are too low for the amp then the amp will go into protect. This will be indicated by the protect LED lighting up or the power led changing color from say green to red.
