Oil in the bottom of washer

The oil is leaking out of the agitator gearbox. The water is coming from the seal on the agitator. I think the gears are badly worn..

Check to see if the oil is coming from under the agitator. If it is replace the transmission. If it is not check to see if there is a grease spot inside the was tub.

Washer leaking oil

If the oil is leaking at the top of the tub, around the agitator, you will need to dig out and repair the brake and drive tube. If it is leaking at the bottom of the washer, about a quart, you will need to replace the gearbox.

Small puddle of water underneath washer when wash cycle was completed.

That could be 1 of a couple things.

1) During the agitate cycle... some water could've made it out of tub.

2) Possible Tub Crack (or overflow line)

3) Check your inlet lines

I would run it again watching it very carefully to determine if any of these are the problem.

WASHER LEAKS WHEN IN WASHING MODE

Hi,
The reason for the leak is probably the "boot". It is a rubber seal that seals around the agitator shaft. It costs about 20 dollars to replace. Drain washer dry! you have to open the top of the whole washer (the normal door is in the top.), remove the agitator by pulling straight up. you will see about 8 bolts in the bottom. remove them and pull the "tub" straight up. You should see the boot and how to remove it from there.

Thank You for contacting Fixya.com

Kenmore 80 series leaking....plastic tub cracked on the bottom

if you removed the large nut (round with four notches cut in it ) then tub should be free. sometimes these "rust together" on the hub. wd40 and a hammer to knock it free. try rocking the basket to break free. you did remove the tub ring(white plastic part on top), right?

Maytag top load washer leak

underneath the agitator is a graphite seal ring and nut that seals the inner tub and the outer tub. a suitable spanner wrench or a 6 inch channel lock plier will remove this locknut. replace the seal.
