SOURCE: freezer works great, but refrigeration section stopped working

you might have a defrost problem. Frost free models have a heating element that is controlled by a timer to automatically defrost ice, defrost timer turns on defrost heating element every 12 hours to melt ice in freezer and allow good air flow.
You can test defrost element with an ohm meter(located inside freezer coils-will have two wires going to a plug connection), if OK replace defrost timer (located in various places depending on make and model

SOURCE: Refrigerator is not cool. Thermometer in there

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

WATER SPLASHING IN FREEZER AT ICEMAKER
THE FILL TUBE IN BACK OF REFRIGERATOR CAN SLIP

REMOVE THE ICEMAKER AND INSPECT THE FILL TUBE.
RUN WATER IN TUBE TO ELININATE BLOCKAGE AND CHECK

OVERKILL AND USUALLY A WASTE OF ELECTRICITY TO KEEP IT THAT COLD, NOT TO MENTION THE FILL TUBE FREEZING UP

SOURCE: refrigerator won"t cooled.

PLEASE DO NOT REPLACE THE FRIDGE F YOU CAN HEAR THE FAN aand the FREEZER is working. Empty the fridge and freezer, switch off the power and DEFROST by keeping both doors wide open, as long as possible. Behind the fridge there is a small collection tray that should fill up when all the frost has melted. If not bow hot air with a hair dryer into the vents at the back of the freezer. There is no need to open any part of the fridge.... give it a good clean - this is probably the only time you will get the chance. Then turn on the fridge while it is still empty and close the doors ...... give it 10 mins and then check if the air flow has resumed in the fridge. The problem is caused due to the air passage between the Freezer & Fridge being blocked with ice - this may have collected over several months or years and can be very hard to melt - it only needs time. NOW that will save you a heap !!

The Refrigerator's Freezer is not working but the fridge is, what is wrong?

You probably have one compressor that cools the freezer section and the refrigerator section. Usually the freezer gets cooled directly with the cooling coils. A fan blows cool air to the refrigerator section. The air flow to the refrigerator may be modulated with some time of "air door". What you have written says to me, is that the fans and air doors are working but there is enough cold for the refrigerator but not enough for the freezer.

Here is what I would do:
  1. Put a thermometer in the refrigerator and in the freezer.
  2. Be sure the coils underneath or behind the refrigerator are clean. If they are very dirty, clean them.
  3. Keep the doors shut for at least 12 hours and then read the thermometers and write down the temperatures.
  4. Freezer temperature
    1. If the freezer has started freezing again, you fixed it by cleaning the coils
    2. .If the freezer temperature is between 0 deg F and 32 deg F, consider putting the food in a cooler and packing in some dry ice to try and save it.
    3. If the freezer is warmer than 32 deg f, throw away the food.
    4. Doctors and hospitals are pretty expensive. I would throw away the food no matter what the thermometer read.
  5. Look inside the freezer at the cooling coils. See if they are ice coated or not.
    1. If the freezer is above 0 deg F, and the coils are ice covered, the defrost control is not working. Unplug the refrigerator for 12 hours and let the ice melt. (Keep the doors shut.) Then, plug in the refrigerator for 12 hours and check the temperature like in step 3.
    2. If the freezer is above 0 deg F, and the coils are NOT ice covered, the compressor is not working.
  6. Call the service technician. When she comes out show her the temperatures and tell her what you found out about the ice on the coils.
Good luck

My refrigerator is not cooling like it should. I

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.

Tried to replace the filter and after that the upp

I don't think replacing the filter had anything to do with your problem.  If the ice maker is working then the freezer is OK since they have the same cooling source.  I had the same problem with this model refrigerator six months after I got it (in 2/2007).  The cooling in the refrigerator section failed.  The refrigerator fan and the air duct as well as the mother board were replaced.  A year later the ice-maker fan froze up. It and the housing were replaced with improved models.  The mother board was also replaced again due to software changes related to the ice maker.  This model is also part of an Energy Star/LG case agreement to modify the circuits and provide a lifetime annual rebate payment.  Check it out and register on the LG web site.

Can't get freezer to cool below 10deg F

For Olson- most combination units have a diverter that allows you to balance the flow of frigid air between the fridge and freezer. It may be located in the rear of your unit since the main cold air flow is done there.
Rockitman - not sure which temperature scale you are using - Olson specified 'F' and normal ranges for the refrigerator would be +35 to +45 degrees and freezer temps are recommended as -5 to 0 F. +10 degrees F wouldn't ensure that food would be very well preserved. Indeed, foods with any amount of salt in them may age at +10.

Samsung RS2534WW freezer not working properly

We had to reset the temperature, and what we did was hold the power freeze and the power cool button in for about 12 seconds. It flashed and reset it. My refrigerator still isn't working right but it seemed to reset the temp. I'm not positive this will work for you or not, but may be worth a try.
