When turned ON, nothing appears on the monitor.

The computer beeps every 5 seconds.

On power "OFF", check your video card and memory cards by re-inserting it into the slot. Be careful though if you haven't done this before. Also check if the CPU fan is working well. It might also be an overheating cpu problem.

Monitor screen is black but computer seems to work

That is not enough info, please provide more info so people can understand the issue better. For example, describe what you do and see step by step. When you turn on the machine, after a few seconds it powers on, it should run Power-On-Self-Test (POST) which will end with a beep telling you everything was OK. If you do not hear any beep, the problem is likely to be inside the case, bad video card, motherboard, CPU, etc. Typically bad RAM or Video card will cause a series of quick or long beeps (different for each motherboard) to indicate where the problem is. Bad CPU generally do not generate a beep code and most motherboards also do not give out a beep for motherboard issues, naturally.

If you hear that beep but see absolutely nothing on the screen from the moment you turn it on, then check to see if the status indicator light (assuming it has one) changes color or not:

A) If the light on the monitor changes from red/amber to blue/green but you see nothing on the screen then either the video resolution and/or refresh rate is unsupported, video drivers are faulty or monitor itself is bad.
B) If the light goes back to red/amber or stays that way from get-go, then there is no connection, monitor cable is loose at either end or bad/supported.
C) One other possibility would be the input selection on the monitor which is set to "Auto" by default but if it was manually changed to DVI for example and you are now using a HDMI cable, monitor would not automatically change this setting thus not receiving the signal from the video card. You can check this using the menu buttons on the monitor itself.

This is a generic troubleshooting ideas I just shared, more details you can provide, the better people will be able to assist you.

My Dell Inspiron does not boot up only the solid amber light on the Motherboard on I try everything and still nothing works please help

Not so sure about this but I hope this will help.
-try to disconnect all the cables from the back (monitor, keyboard, mouse, usb's, power cable, etc.)
-then disconnect all the card (video card, sound card, NIC) if all are integrated then you dont have to.
-connect just the power cable
-try to turn on the computer and check if it beeps
-if it does not beeps need to replace the motherboard but before you do this check if the fan will spin even for a single second if does not spin then you also need to replace the power supply as well
-if it beeps then turn it off again.
-connect the video card and connect the cable of the monitor, keyboard and mouse
-turn on the computer then check if theres any display
-if theres no display check for any beep indication. and right it down on a piece of paper on how many times it beeps and if its long beep or short beep.
kindly provide an email if this things does not work so that I can give you a resolution.

I turn computer on blue light on computer tower comes on monitor power **** turns blue and the on screen message going into power save mode and then nothing change motherboard battery and took out graphic...

Short of it being something simple like your monitor cable is unplugged, the more likely problem is that there's a fault on your motherboard or graphics card.
You should have an internal speaker connected to your motherboard, it should be giving beeps depending on what the problem is. If everything is ok then there should be a single beep.
If you are not hearing anything try removing your RAM and boot up, you should get lots of loud beeps, if you hear nothing then it's likely your motherboard is faulty.

Computer goes on but does not boot

When you start up the PC, do you get any kind of beep sound? If not, I would reckon the RAM modules are faulty and would need to be replaced first. That is the usual cause for this kind of issue. Also when replacing the modules, make sure they are the type supported by your motherboard, ie DDR, DDR2, etc. You will have to consult your m/b manual for this..

If the problem is not with the RAM, ie you hear a beep, but nothing else, I would guess that the MBR of your operating system is dysfunctional, which would mean that you would have to reinstall the operating system.

Hope that helps...

Cheers!
