Gps voice guidance is off

if you do not have the manual just go here: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Navigation/AVIC-F700BT_OperationManual0606.pdf your gps is more complex than mine (Garmin Nuvi) so best advice I can give you is to go online to that site & look at the manual. On mine it has on the home screen option for volume & tools & from there many other functions etc..good luck. hope it helps.

I have a nuvi 760 and lost the voice instructions

First check that the sound has not been muted. Pres the volume symbol and see if the mute box is ticked. If not either the voice has become unselected or the voice file has become corrupted. Press, Tools, Settings, Language. The selected voice should be displayed. Press voice and select another. If there's not another voice or if the voice file is corrupted you can download it again. First download webupdater from http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27 and install it. Connect the satnav to your computer and using webupdater it will search for updates. When it's finished it will give you the option to select voice files by clicking on them. Select the ones you want and press next. When the files are downloaded and the satnav is disconnected from the computer you can select the voice you want as described above.

No sound when GPS IS ON

This happened once with my nuvi 760 (I've had it for 2 weeks). What I found is that the "voice" had been de-selected (all by itself). No voice - no sound. After I selected a voice again, I got sound. Dunno why it happened, and I hope that it doesn't happen again.

Nuvi 250 no longer gives advanced voice prompts

My nuvi 250 which was bought at the same time didn't even give any announcements ahead. It would just say "turn right" when it was almost too late (and sometimes it was even too late). I didn't even know it was supposed to do that although I wished it would because I had seen this feature on a Tom Tom.  Yesterday I did a software update and now it gives the warnings in advance. The update is just to solve this problem. See http://www8.garmin.com/products/webupdater/

My Nuvi 360 volume for the voice prompts is too low, even on the highest setting. I also have a Nuvi 200, and the volume is fine on that unit. But if I get a phone call on my 360, the volume is OK. Is...

It is possible to turn up the voice level...but you have to be willing to hack the voice file a wee bit with a hex editor.
Just Open the .vpm file you want to modify in the hex editor, and search for "<voice_volume>96</voice_volume>" without the quotation marks...and change the numerical value - I have Australian Karen cranked up to 96. This makes the sound level of the voice prompts comparable to the MP3 level when I hook my Nuvi350 into my vehicle's sound system via the added line input that takes the place of the non-existent CD changer. Before I did this, when I played MP3s at a comfotable listening level, the voice prompts were too quiet. Now, they're comparable.

Garmin nuvi 360

I had the same problem. Sometimes the voice would start to speak and then cut off after a few sounds. I was still under warranty so Garmin replaced it (I think with a rebuilt I am now having display problems with).

Before I contacted them I tried software updates and resets and changing voices--alas it had to go back to the factory.

Voice directions not working.

First, ensure that you are using the unmuted internal speakers by pressing the power button twice while the unit is on.

Do you hear beeps (button tones) through the speakers?

These are a couple things to try:

1. Change the voice from English TTS (JILL) to English TTS (JAKE) - This will demonstrate whether the voice database has been corrupted.

2. Tap the power button twice while the unit is on to switch back to fm transmitter and attempt to use your radio to tune the sound. If you succeed here, you may indeed have a problem with your internal speaker. A return of the product may be necessary.
