Question about Kenmore Refrigerators
Ice flap has come loose and needs to be refitted. I need to get into the mechanism to reattach the hinge. How do I remove the ice/water dispenser from the door of the fridge?

SOURCE: in door ice dispenser
Remove the top freezer door hinge cover , and disconnect the plug there . This will remove the power to the door . Inside the lower part of the dispensor cover , inside the dispensor area , between the grill and the actual dispensor bottom , use a small screwdriver in the crease , and push down and inward carefully , to release the 2 plastic clips , mounted on the bottom of the dispensor cover . 1 clip on each side at the bottom . Then lift the cover straight up ( not outward ) , to release the top plastic clips Then unplug the receptical to the dispensor cover . You should see 4 screws holding the dispensor caseing , which will need to be removed , for access to the controls .

SOURCE: Bottom hinge on GE side
there should be a disconnect behind the kickplate under the door, also a disconnect for the wire harness too.don't cut anything,i've found people cut the wires and then had to replace the door for this.if for some reason there isn't a disconnect there remove the hose from the water valve but there's a disconnect there.pop off the kickplate and you should see it

Here is a link to your units dispenser parts drawing.
Being that you have ice in the bucket, that tells me that there is an electrical issue...no ice or water from dispenser.
Two parts you need to check
Part number 14 the switch and part number 17 the electronic board.
Let me know what you find....

The description says you have an LG fridge? I may need the entire model # from the sticker inside the fridge to tell for sure, but there is a motor behind the dispenser controls that opens the door.
