I'm not that familiar with your model, however, the ##324 error is a scanner failure. On some of the Canon models, there is a provision in the menu for re-calibrating the scanner. You try this but I can't guarantee it will fix your problem. If I'm thinking right, your model corresponds to the Hp LaserJet 3100 series (but then again, why should I start thinking right now?). They where notorious for that problem. You'll need a blank sheet of white paper, look through the menu to find "calibrate scanner". I'm still trying to find more information on this, but I don't have it yet Hope it helps Ed

Check printer msg and audible alarm sounds. If I unplug the fax and wait 30 seconds and plug it back in alarm stops and check printer display is gone

If its a ## error its a internal fault like the fuser or laser!If it the fuser just before it starts to print it will say check printer and stop!Take it to the nearest dealer and let them have a look at it!

ensure the printer was correctly enstalled, check all connections ensure a tight fit. if it is connected to a network make sure the network cable is plugged in and blinking green

Cause
An internal mechanism is faulty.
Remedy
1) Check the connection between the laser scanner unit (J802) and SCNT board (J6).
2) Replace the laser scanner unit.
3) Replace the SCNT board.
