Hello - From what you have described it sounds like you either have a problem with the belt, front and/or rear bearing, or a loose connection with the motor or drum. I recommend contacting a professional to accurately diagnose the issue, the part(s) may have to be replace depending if they are worn, damaged or loose.

Could be one of 4 problems:

  1. Worn or loose drum drive belt (Looks like a large fan belt) (New belt cost $12)
  2. The rear bearing(s) is bad and needs replacing (part cost $18)
  3. The front bearing guide(Sleeve) is worn (Part cost 2@$18.00
  4. Possible that the fan is loose from the motor and hitting housing.
All of the above are easy do at home repairs if you re handy. You should be able to get a good idea of what is wrong just by turning the dryer drum by hand. If the problem is the front bearing or guides, you will hear a grinding noise in the front at the top of the door.

1999 durango has a light clicking coming from the left front wheel stops when you apply brakes or turn but gets progressively worse as you drive

Could be a front wheel bearing. Jack the car up and grab the top and bottom of the wheel and try to pull in and out. If any slop is felt replace the bearing.

I have a 2004 Jetta gl 2.0 and I have had problems with lifting the trunk open. It has been progressively getting worse, and I see that the left side of trunk is lifting up now. Is this a common problem...

Check the trunk stays,(these are the small shock absorber type devices that hold the trunk open)
If it has progressively getting worse than I would say that one has slowly been leaking & placing a lot more strain on the other to the point now were they both have failed,Run your hand over the silver shaft wer it slides back into the black casing,if it is all oily the the seal has failed & the fluid has leaked out. These boot stays are reasonably cheap & take 2 seconds to replace. Also apply some lubricant to the boot hinges as over time these can get rusty & also lead to the premature failure of the boot stays.
