Question about Samsung LN40B530 40 in. LCD HDTV
The tv have to stay on for about 30min before the picture will play right
A bad connection (solder) or a loose plug or cable someplace---problem with this set is the issue could be inside the front screen or Display Panel as it is called where it cannot be got at--replacing the Display is not cost effective if it is the cause as it costs more than a new set.

The display screen is made of a matrix of elements connected to cables
along the side and top. On your unit, some of these many, tiny
connections are making contact intermittantly thus losing the elements
in that area. These contacts are held in place with just pressure and
if that is disturbed, you lose that line of elements. Try squeezing the
cabinet of the TV on the outside at the top in the area of the loss and
see if that makes a difference. May have to go inside and see if the
contact assembly is disturbed or warped or something.
Hope ya fix it!

I would take it back. I know from purchasing an Insignia LCD from them a while back, the TV just died after about 4 or 5 months. They ended up offering me another TV or with store credit. I took the store credit and chose another TV. I also did not have a warranty. I was told since it was Insignia (which is a Best Buy house brand) that replacing it was not a problem. Good luck.

The first place to start is with the Main bd. The second cause would be the T-con bd. Have a trained Samsung tech troubleshoot to find out and repair the set.

The machine is still under warranty from samsung so I would call 1-800-samsung to find the nearest service center. Problem could be caused by a bad main board, bad lvds cable or a defective t/con board or lcd panel.
