SOURCE: I need a power cord with foot pedal for a montgomery ward sewing machine model UHT J 1980? Anybody have any ideas. Could also use a manual

Don't know if problem is resolved, but I put a Mont Ward sewing machine model # UHT 1460 on Washington DC Craigslist a few moments ago. Could not fix it, so am selling it for parts (something is wrong with bobbin assembly and I give up!!). If you just want the power cord and foot contact me through there and I will detach it and mail it to you--the postage shouldn't be too much for just those parts.

How do I find the model number for my Singer sewing machine? The model number is not on the machine. The serial number is B684078. It was made in the early 1900's.

  1. 1990 - present. For sewing machines manufactured since about 1990, look for the model number on the handwheel side of the machine near the on/off switch or the electric cord receptacle.
  2. 1970 - 1989. You will find the model number on the front panel of machines manufactured in the 1970s and 1980s.
  3. 1960 - 1970. ...
  4. Before 1960.

Where do I find the serial number or model number for an old treadle type singer sewing machine

Sometimes it is on a metal plate or on older machines it is sometimes stamped into the metal on the underside of the machine. FWIW, older machines there is usually only one number--the serial number. That serial number is associated with a model number:

Serial number 685041449 operator manual please

A serial number is no good Colin as that is just a numerical number of the number of machines made. In such cases you need the make and MODEL number.

Here are all the Janome manuals from the site.

What is model name?

The model number should appear just before the Serial Number. If you go to the Singer site with this number you will be able to find if there is a model name.

Where can I find the serial number

Actually, that sounds like the serial number, not a model number. However, if you go to the Singer site, there is a page under Support and Resources to show you where your serial number is located.

I need manual for singer machine model #50t8 e99670

Singer Sewing Machine labels are printed in a confusing manner. E99670 50T8 is not the actual Model Number. The actual Model Number is the first 4 digits on the line with the Serial Number. In my case, the Model Number is1525, even though E99670 50T8 appears on the label at "Model Number". This machine was also labeled with other 4 digit model numbers too, depending on when it was manufactured. Using the Singer link for either free downloadable manuals, or paid paper manuals, search for the correct 4 digit model number and the resulting correct manual is there. Link below for manuals :

Looking for singer sewing machine manual g2048733 I believe it is 1911

The g2048733 is the serial number and was built in 1912, actually. (1911 is not the model number.) To get the manual, you need the model number. This should be on a plaque on the front of the machine; it may be just above the base on the belt side. (Singer made 40 models as of 1900.) If the plaque is missing, contact 1-800-4-SINGER (1-800-474-6437) to translate the serial number into a model number.

With the model number, you can get a manual here: http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals . Here you can download or purchase manuals depending on the machine.

If you add a comment with the model number, I will be glad to provide the direct link to the manual. I hope this helps.

Serial number

No question, but the 'serial number' of the machine is actually the 'chassis number' on Berninas and is the 8-digit number following 'ChNo' on the specification plate on the rear of the machine. The number following 'SeNo.' is actually the type number and will be the same for all machines of the same model.

How to thread a singer feather weight machine

  1. To begin threading the Featherweight, use the third photo below as a guide.
  2. Put a spool of thread on the thread spindle
  3. Pull the free end of the thread to the left across the top of the machine and hook it over the thread guide (number 1)
  4. Pull the thread down and under (from right to left) the tension discs. (number 2)
  5. Hold on to the spool of thread to create tension on the thread, and pull the thread so in puts pressure on the thin wire called the “take up spring" (number 3). The uptake spring is part of the tension knob device.
  6. Pull the thread up making sure it passes behind the metal bar thread guide. (number 4)
  7. Pass the thread from right to left through the hole in the take-up lever (number 5).
  8. Refer to photo number 4 for the remaining instructions. Guide the thread down and hook it behind the thread guide (number 6).
  9. Then hook the thread behind the next thread guide located at the bottom of the chrome face plate (number 7).
  10. Hook the thread behind the thread guide on the needle bar assembly (number 8)
  11. Finally, thread the needle from right to left.
