When i try to turn on the oven, it clicks and lights but then the flame goes out

You may need to replace the thermostat/thermocouple. This is a common part that needs replacement every few years (sometimes they just stop working sooner too). It's cheap and relatively easy to change. The purpose of this is to prevent a gas leak (because the oven is turned on) if the flame were to go out and could not be re-lit.

Water heater flame going out

clogged orifice, found at the end of piloy tubeing(it looks like a tiny thimble) clear orifice with a stripped bread tie. if that doesnt do it, you need to replace the thermocouple. thats the metal sensor that your pilot flame heats. if the thermocouple is not up to temperature by way of flame ,nothing will work. these are cheap and easy to replace

Pilot light and heater will not stay lit

If the pilot light won't remain lit after you release pilot button you will need to replace the thermocouple. If you do not know how to do this it is generally a fairly easy job. First locate lines going from gas valve into burner compartment. There should be three, one to pilot light one to main burner and one to thermocouple. The thermocouple line is usually copper color and mounts directly in front of the pilot light. They usually slip into a friction fit holder so you disconnect line from gas valve and pull gently on line to remove. Measure length and get a new thermocouple at most hardware stores. If you can reuse the old holder then install thermocouple by inserting it into holder and seating it as far forwards as it will go. If you damage holder on removal there should be a new one with new thermocouple. Try to center thermocouple in pilot flame. Reconnect to gas valve and light according to instructions. I hope this helps you. Thanks

My pilot won't stay on i've tried several times.

Your problem is easy and frequent. The pilot light should heat up the thermouple which in return by the heat will keep the valve on for pilot light first and the burner light.

So either the pilot light is not reaching the thermocouple - this only if someone moves the pilot light

Or the thermocouple became weak and can hold the gas valve open - so replace the thermocouple with new one.

There is a very small possibility that the gas valve is faulty but you should replace the thermocouple in any case which is very cheap first and is the most possible cause.

Pilot will not relight properly on 40 gallon natural gas hot water heater

Hi,
The thermocouple needs to be replaced. That is what keeps the pilot light lit. The thermocouple is the little metal probe that sticks up into the pilot flame. Very easy to replace.

Easy way to replace the thermocouple

I suppose it would be easier to replace the thermocouple than the thermostat. Once you have the thermocouple in your hand, the installation is self explanatory. If you describe the problem, maybe the correct solution will come.

My pilot light keeps going out on my comfort glow infrared propane heater what could be making it go out?

The thermocoupler is faulty. It is that bulb that sits i the pilot flame. It controls the gas valve so you won't get any gas if the pilot goes out.. So, the thermocoupler needs to be replaced. Inexpensive and easy fix. Good Luck _Ned_

Pilot light won't stay lit.

Ensure that gas is getting to the pilot , or you may have a devective pressure regulator.
If gas is getting to pilot and pilot is turning off, then you need to replace the thermocouple.
The thermocouple function is to turn off the gas if there is not enough temperature, so to prevent gas leaks if the pilot light goes off.
Near to the pilot light there should a part similar to a small metal tube directly in contact with the flame. Thermocouple is wired back to the gas valve.
When the pilot is on, and temperature is steady, the thermocouple will generate a small voltage that will keep the gas safety valve open. In case the pilot light goes off, the thermocouple will cause the valve to close. When you hold the pilot light button , the thermocouple will normally reach enough temp to keep valve open.
If the termocouple is faulty, it will turn off as soon as you release the igniter button.
Replacing thermocouple is an easy repair.

Call the number listed on the owners documentation to get the replacement part.
