Power supply has died. But I will need the model number of the set to assist further because some models actually get the power on command from the main board

SOURCE: LCD TV WONT POWER ON

A dead condition usually indicates one of the following: Open fuse (often internal, and usually pops due to other circuit defects). Short (overload condition) in the circuitry. Failure elsewhere in the circuitry. Most modern electronics have some logic circuitry, and if there is a section of the circuit not working, the logic circuit keeps the set from coming on at all.

First, if your power cord plugs into the set, check that it is properly connected. If you can get into the internals, find the fuse, check it, replace with an exact or near exact size.

If problems are beyond the simple, technical expertise will be required to nail down and fix the problem.

SOURCE: tv turns off after 15 minutes of use

For bobby11 and luis, it is the power supply. Part Number EAY34797001 in the 42" and EAY34796801 in the 32". This is a known problem, and somebody should start a Class Action against LG over this one. Part is available online and easy to swap out for anyone with the most basic knowledge.

SOURCE: AKAI 32" LCD HDTV WILL NOT TURN ON

The only solution at this point would be to get the power supply repair since new boards are not longer being manufactured. In about 95% of the time if the LCD doesn't power up or turns OFF by itself or need to be unplug for some time to make work again; those are the symptoms of a dying or defective power supply.
I service these power supplies, for more info write to jah2mil@hotmail.com

SOURCE: My Philips 19pfl3403d/f7 wont turn on without unplugging first.

just call philips and they will send you a new t.v.! it isn't a recall, that would be bad publicity!! i spoke with a philips representative yesterday concerning my 'possessed' television. a gentlemen informed me that philips has a 'rapid replacement program' for the described 'possessed' t.v. set. simply provide model and serial numbers, time and place of purchase, then provide street address for fed-ex delivery. approximate time of arrival is 10-15 days. you are directed to package and return the old set to nearest fed-ex pick up site. i am super excited that i took the time to call philips support. i think that i spent a total of 10 minutes on the telephone; it was time well spent. oh yea, here's the number!

I own a 1995 Toyota 4 wheel drive 4 runne that I use only to drive to the beach and back which is about a 5 minute drive. Occasionally I use it to haul something from Home Depot. Over the past 3 weeks, it...

To begin with, you\'re not driving the vehicle enough - five minutes isn\'t usually enough time to recharge the battery after a start, so if you repeatedly start it but give it only a few minutes to recharge, the cumulative drain on the battery gets to be too much.

It\'s a lot like working hard every day but eating only one boiled egg for supper every evening after work - you can do that for a while, but eventually you run out of reserves.

Short drives are also terribly hard on the engine. If it never gets up to full working temperature, it also never gets properly lubricated inside, and so wears out much faster than it should. I\'d recommend driving it no less than fifteen minutes every time (EVERY time) you use it.

All that said, you may also have a bad alternator fuse. It\'d be in the fuse box under the hood, and it should be a fairly large one. With nothing but short drives, I wouldn\'t be surprised if that fuse is also blown; when the battery gets too low, the alternator has to work really hard trying to charge it back up. If the alternator has to work really hard EVERY TIME (because the battery\'s low and never gets charged all the way back up after your short drives), it\'s pretty likely that the fuse will weaken and blow.

Again, if you find a bad fuse there... after replacing the fuse and recharging the battery, drive the vehicle more. Not more often, but keep it running longer when you drive it.

After you push the power button you hear a POP sound and it dies. It previously wouldn't release the door lock.

Most deadbolts use a cylinder lock. In the cylinder lock, the key turns a cylinder, or plug, which turns an attached cam. When the plug is turned one way, the cam pulls in on the bolt and the door can open.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Open the cabinet and look for lint buildup around the motor. Lint will act like a blanket and hold to heat in on the motor which in turn will cause it to shut down by way of it's safety mechanism. Check that out and post back your findings.

Hi,

Im very sorry to hear that, please follow these simple steps for you to be able to isolate the exact problem.

1. Removed the battery.
2. Connect the laptop directly to the power outlet without using the battery just for the meantime.
3. Turn on the laptop. If the laptop is able to power on, that means that the AC adapter is working fine as well as the DC port. If the laptop is not able to turn on, it maybe the AC adapter itself or the DC port.
4. Try to use another AC adapter if possible, make sure that that AC adapter is working fine. If the laptop is still not turning on, the problem is with the DC port itself. In that case, you will need to replaced the Motherboard itself.

Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...

Phone won't turn on, took battery out and put it back in, still won't turn on, it acts like it's about to turn on and then blinks back off. Battery is charged up, I've only had it for 4 months

When you power up first let it going into off chargeing mode, then hold the power button to turn it on, continue to hold it through this whole process, then after the sitck together box has been completed (which may take a few attempets) rapidly push the right soft key until your phone jump in and out of the t-zones area which should be your default right soft key buttong then you should be able to use your phobe normally, note that it did take me a good half an hour of doing this to make my phone through the whole process. :)
