Question about Televison & Video
I CHANGED THE LAMP AND NOW I DONT GET ANY PICTURE
If you got one before replacing the lamp, put the old one back.
If not let me know what the model and brand are of your set.

if you purcased a LTI lamp then the possibilty of a bad lamp may be the case. LTI lamps are cheap and are poorly manufactured. if it is a JVC lamp then you may have further problems such as lamp balast, or thermal sensor. clean the fans and filtersfor better air flow. keeping the lanp cool is important for the life of the lamp.

Look in the owners manual for the directions on how to remove the lamp. Your model the lamp goes in from the front on the left looking at the TV. There is a thumb screw in the back on the corner holding the left front speaker on. Under the panel there is another thumb screw holding the lamp door on. You will need a Phillips screw driver to remove the lamp. You will most likely find that the lamp is bad. You will either have to order a lamp directly from JVC, a service center or a parts distributor.

One must be very careful of the quality of the replacement lamp. Many of the cheap 'deals' on the web for replacement lamps are substandard. I always recommend that replacement bulbs be the original manufacturers bulb.

SOURCE: tv problem
The wner's manual should indicate what the flashing light code means, but the nmoise you hear is the lamp attempting to fire. This could be a bad lamp or ballast. I would first attempt to change the lamp as that is the least expensive option. Next, would be the ballast. These sets have many problem detection circuits designed to shutdown the set if any problem is detected at all. This is in an attempt to prevent additional damage. Check the ownner's manual for the code and try the lamp.
Update this with the results of those actions and we'll continue from there.

Make sure that the lamp cage is seating well .. then make sure the door is closed properly. there is a door switch and if the door dont close right the switch may be telling the set the lamp is out.
