Question about Toshiba Satellite L655S5065RD 156 Notebook PC
When pushing start button only resonse is a blinking orange light at front of laptop
Okay, what does that light indicate? (hard drive activity, power plugged in, battery, etc). It most likely indicates a faulty power supply or damaged battery unit.

SOURCE: problem with laptop- no power
The battery needs to be taken out once in a while. It is possible to use the ac adapter and power cord without the battery to power your laptop. Please press on the power button for 10 seconds for your computer to turn on. Check if you can see any message on the screen.

Was the laptop on when it turned off? It may be a PSU problem but we can determine this by removing the battery. Make sure you disconnect the AC adapter while your removing the battery. Inspect the contacts and make sure`there are no black marks or any other dirt. Leave the battery out and plug in your AC adapter. Try the power again.
There are a couple of possibilities in terms of problems that I can suspect so far. Did anything out of the ordinary happen when the computer just stopped working all of the sudden.
1. Battery has failed and short circuited the contacts 2. Power supply failure 3. Motherboard could have failed in style. 4. Power contacts for the AC adapter are damaged.

hello, try unplugging the power cord from the laptop and then remove the battery too, wait for 15 seconds put the battery back in and plug the power cord back in, now try to power the laptop back on and see if it works.
let me know if it doesn't and if you see any change in any of the lights blinking.
