Rear liftgate will not stay open on my 2002 Tahoe, especialy in cold weather. Price for new struts at the dealer, $49.50 each. Is there a better place to buy these and should they be replaced in pairs?

No you probably have to change the lift gate struts/supports that are on the liftgate itself. very easy to do and they sell them at the autoparts store i would say for around 30-60 bucks

Does black smoke come out of the exhaust pipe when you floor it? Is so, it is running rich. Make sure fuel pressure is with in limits. A bad regulator may permit too much pressure. Also check the MAP sensor. Make sure it is getting vacuum.

2004 chevy tahoe rear window won't go up. Is this a fuse problem?

The fuse should be the first place to check. If the fuse is good, check for power at the switch and the component itself with a multimeter or test light.

Just need to find where the blower motor resistor on a 1996 chevy tahoe

disconnect the negative side of the battery, open the passenger side door and remove the two screws

under the glove compartment box. remove the black cover from the resistor pack, remove the blower

motor resistor and replace it with a new one. re-install the cover and the two bolts, re-connect your

negative on the battery and your done. good luck!

What controls the delayed power retention system on a 2005 Chevy Silverado truck? Radio, windows, etc., are still powered after the door is opened. Will now only shut off after lock is pressed on remote.

You will need to check the driver door trigger as this wire shuts down that system. Also verify the circuit shuts down if you open the passenger door. The main circuit is powered from the ACC wire located in the steering column. It is a thick BROWN wire.

If it just "clicks" check starter cable. If you have an aftermarket alarm, make sure it's off. There are 2 or three ignition fuses under the hood and I think one or two on the left side dash panel at the door (open the door on driver side and you can see the plastic panel on the side of the dash directly in front of you) There maybe an Ignition relay under the hood (fuse panel) and one on the right side dash (same as left) To check the relays, it takes two people, one to turn the key and one to listen for the relay "click", if you hear it click, you have power and the relay is good. Check them all, the owners manual will give you all the exact fuse and relay locations. Beyond that, try and jump start the truck. Make sure all of your equipment is "off" Radio, A/C etc. then try and start, if the jumping vehicles RPM's drop, let them sit for a few minutes with the second vehicle running and try again. If it still won't start, and all the fuses and relays are good, you've got a bad cable from the red square batt box next to the alternator that runs to the starter, or a very loose cable, or a bad starter. I am not a mechanic, however I have owned 4 Yukons and my current one has 243k. I've seen all the quirks! (and fixed them all) Hope this helps
