Nexus 42 inch tv won't power on

This sounds like a problem with the power board. Look on you tube for troubleshooting video's for your model. It depends how confident you are in working inside a TV but you can pick up a second hand power board fairly cheap on ebay. Remember always to specify the model number when searching for things.

How to transfer 1080P MKV HD movies to Google Nexus S for playback?

For the last few days we've been using the Google Nexus S, manufactured by Samsung, with the new Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" operating system. This is a phone that was designed with direct input from the Google Android team. And like its predecessor, the Nexus One, which was released in January 2010, it has a "clean" install of Android. That means there is no additional software layer from third party OEMs or carriers to interfere with the user experience. Like the Nexus One, this will become the reference phone for this generation of Android.

The media experience on the Android 2.3 platform is unfortunately not that good natively - incompatibility with many file types and basic operation mar the experience. For movies, Video Player is the one we reach for instantly whenever we pick up an Android phone. The powerful player has a high level of file compatibility, multiple bookmark options and even a slider for brightness management.

Detailed specs:

Video:
HD(720p@30fps) video playing, Video recording D1 (720x480)@30fps, mpeg4, H.264, H.263

Audio:
MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, AMR, AMR-NB

MKV is the most popular HD movie format for playback now. And the 1080P Blu-ray movies downloaded from internet are also in mkv format. So we need to find a way to convert 1080P MKV movies to Nexus S supported video formats for playback on it.

Then, how to convert 1080P MKV movies for Google Nexus S?

Free download: MKV to Nexus S Converter which is a great video converter to convert mkv to other video formats without quality.

Step 1. How to rip Blu-ray DVD to Nexus S and watch Blu-ray DVD movies on Nexus S

The approach for Android has never been one that focused heavily on the media side of things, and that's not really been upgraded for Android 2.3.

There are a couple of tiny tweaks, but if you're looking to get a dedicated media phone, this handset (screen aside) isn't going to give you pause compared to something like the iPhone 4.

Video on the Google Nexus S looks superb thanks to the WVGA Super AMOLED screen, rocking a full 800 x 480 resolution count.

At full power, the brightness is definitely acceptable for viewing in most situations - we pulled it out on the street and managed to watch footage no matter what the conditions (although we wouldn't recommend it).

Media specs:

Video:
HD(720p@30fps) video playing, Video recording D1 (720x480)@30fps, mpeg4, H.264, H.263

Audio:
MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, AMR, AMR-NB

We have a lot of Blu-ray DVD disc collections, and we tested to rip Blu-ray DVD to Nexus S for playback. Replace power supply board on nexus 50" plasma hdtv

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Take it to a repair shop.

TV has no picture!

could easily be a power supply problem. they are easy to replace but there are three or four boards in your tv depending on brand. your are going to need a multi meter to fix this problem searching around. if you don't know how to use one you would be better off sending to shop. one thing you can try, unplug the boards and reseat them sometimes it works.
