If its over ten years of age I would consider replacing it as it might not be possible to find parts and might not be a good investment in a "old" unit.

SOURCE: gas dryer makes loud hum

Sounds like you may have a motor issue, they can get lint trapped inside, and it causes the motor to overheat, and eventually go out. You can remove the top, then the front, and see if thats the problem. Usually, once the motor starts making noise, its time to replace. Right now, the packings in the motor are cold, and once they heat up, they stop making noise, so it could last quite a while.

SOURCE: dryer makes squeaking noise ,then dryer shuts off. mdl.#CYG4000AWW

Hello, sounds like the rear drum rollers are in need of replacement which is causing the motor to get hot and cut out on the thermal cut out. It can be tricky to service if you not handy. Good Luck

SOURCE: Electrolux dryer error code e61

There is a 'tech sheet' in the back pf the dryer. Unplug machine, Remove the access panel on the back to get to it. Reach in and it should be there. It will tell you how to do a button check. You have to enter a test mode through the buttons.
The E 61 is a stuck button.

Enter function test mode and perform key
stuck closed (active). (button) test to determine which button is at
fault. Carefully free the and perform the test
again. If button is free but the key struck code
still exists, replace electronic control.

Electricity is not reaching fuel pump. Wiring is fine. 1990 F350 4.9 Emgine Automatic transmission

the power relay activates the PCM, engine computer. The PCM activates the fuel pump relay that turns on the fuel pump with key ON. It runs for 5 seconds, then it shuts off, unless the engine starts. Can you hear the pump run (hum) in th fuel tank when key is turned ON?

Also, reset the inertia switch in case it tripped. Owner's manual will tell you where it is. Rest is pressing the buton.

Dryer runs for a few minutes then shuts off when u restart pushing in knob it will hum for a second then start and turn off again in a few minutes

the humming you hear is coming from the motor, unfortunitely the motor needs to be replaced, when the motor heats up it shuts down from running hotter than normal, could be from not cleaning out the dryer every one to two years, the lint covers the motor like a blanket making it run hot,the vent line cloggs up and the duct that the lint filter slides into needs to be cleaned out, also it could be from to large a load put into the machine but whatever the cause you need to replace the motor or replace the dryer depending on how old it is and what shape it's in.next time send the model number,i can look up your part and tell you how to change out the motor

Frigidaire dryer hums when button is pushed in but won't start

ok can u turn the tumbler freely,
if no well there is something stuck in you blower like a sock or something
if the tumbler turns freely
keep the door open and hold the door switch
try pushing the start button
and tuning the tumbler, yes all three at the same time lol you may need a hand
try tuning the tumbler when you hear a hum
if it takes off bad news your start winding on the motor is bad or the capacitor depending on your model
if it does not turn, but the hum continues longer than 1-2 minutes it could be just a belt

Dryer won't start or it starts and runs for a minute or two only

When it does start does it seem to hesitate or have a louder hum than normal upon startup? Please write back with the model number and I can further assist you. The vibration from the dryer being on could be disconnecting the power behind the plug in the wall. turn off breaker to that dryer and make sure connections are good to the outlet...I have seen this happen before. If it seems slow to start when it does start and make a hesitating humming sound before it gets going your motor maybe going on overload and shutting off. Therefore you would need a new motor....please let me know...

The timer runs and I can hear the motor humming, but the tumbler won't turn. The motor hums for about 30 seconds and then it turns off. Every few minutes, I can hear it trying to run but it can't.

Check the belt. If it is broken you will need a new one. To check the belt take a flat head screw driver and insert it under the lip of the top at the front about 2 inches in from the corner. Repeat on other side. You will have to hit the end of the screw driver pretty good to pop the top off. Once you pop the top you should be able to see the dryer drum. If the belt is broken it will have fallen to the bottom. You will need to get your model # to get the belt part # but if it is a typical Kenmore dryer the belt # will be 341241. It's a standered belt and any parts dealer should carry it. It will run about $20. The model # is located on the inside of the dryer door. Again if it is a typical Kenmore it will start with a 110.?????. There should be a diagram with the belt on how to install it. Hope this helps.
