Question about Frigidaire Freezers
The freezer will run normally for several days, then the door mounted controls will fault or freeze. There is still power to the door mounted electronic thermostat, but the controls will freeze and not respond. The compressor and even the interior light will power down, but the LED display to the controls are still powered. If I unplug the power connection from the wall socket and then reconnect it, the freezer will power back up and operate normally at least for several days. The controls will also operate normally after a power reset. Would you please let me know what could cause this problem and the solution?

First make sure you have a good 9v battery installed. If it is ok then the problem will probably be in the display board or the wiring connectors between the boards. CE is communication error. If your model has the electronic tempature control instead of mechanical thermostat the problem could be in there. My bet is a bad connection at display board.

you have a refrigeration issue partner let her go 16 yrs. is good service you can replace it for 3 to 5 hundred the repair will be that IF you can find someone with the r-12. don't go for a top it off and go deal the food you lose is to expensive for that to be economical.

SOURCE: Freezer Problem
If it started to cool again the compressor was running. Check the condenser and make sure it is clean. Provide as much air movement through the garage as possible . 100 degrees is a high temperature to be operating a refrigerator in.

i dont think so i would look at the compressor kicking out on thermal overload or a faulty thermostat thermostats have two settings cut in cut out your cut in could be bad and not turning the compressor on till the temp reaches melting temps now if your hearing a click buzz then you need to look at the compressor and make sure the compressor fan is running but its not a defrost promblem

Yes a power brown out can cause compressor failure. More than likely If there was a power surge it is possible that the overload on the compressor opened. This is a safty device that helps protect the compressor. It usually resets itself but in the cause of a surge it may have burnt up. problem could also be in the relay or thermostat
