Kenmore UltraWash Dishwasher - 665.13044K - NO Lights will come on

Can't get ANY of the lights to come on. I AM getting power to the dishwasher. I've replaced BOTH electronic control boards W10482988 & W10333388 AND still no lights. Sears said there is NO thermal fuse for this unit

SOURCE: Dishwasher acts like it isn't getting power.

If you have power to the board and no power out to components then your board has failed. Will need to replace board. Part#154635501 and sugg retail is about$100.

If you have tested fuse, overfill, latch, and you have a new electronic control, then it is necessarily a wiring problem. However, since wiring problem causing this after lighting is quite uncommon, I suggest double checking all the rest first:

We have electricty to our dishwasher but the console will not light

How do you know that there is power if all lights are off and there is no noise?
Power at the socket does not mean power to the dishwasher.
If there is no symptom and unit does not start at all. Techs do testing by reading volts at power board contacts. A way to test this with power off is reading Ohms between power plug prongs and power cord and power cord connection on the appliance, this will reveal if circuit is closed.

In the same way you test wiring.

How did you test the latch switch? The best test is done jumping its contacts.

If you have done all this, then the next step is reading impedance in different wiring harness points.

Note: overfill switch is not the problem, even if this is open the machine will start but will not fill. If machine starts but no fill, then overfill switch must be tested by jumping, and inlet valve must be tested (read Ohms, read volts energize, swap inlets contacts if dual etc).

SOURCE: My wife said the dishwasher just stopped with

Most likely you are correct the thermal fuse located on the board is probley going to be you culprit if you have already replaced the control board and did not replace the thermal fuse on the control...
these control boards are notorious for failure ,and the thermal fuse in some cases will cathc any problems prior to taking the control out ,but sometimes will alway the control to fail or a relay on the board will burn up internally ... sounds like your on the right track and have some mechanically knowlede of the machine... wish you luck

If the dishwasher is not working with no lights or display then the most likely cause is an open thermal fuse.It is located in the console and can be checked for continuity with a meter or it can be bypassed if no meter is available. The thermal fuse will have a black wire and a black/white wire on it. If you have no meter then with the power turned off you can remove these two wires and join them together with a small piece of insulated wire and see if you get any lights. One other possibility is the wire connections at the dishwasher junction box behind the kick plate. Sometimes the wire nuts get loose and a good connection is lost. Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns and breaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must be repaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check the wiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lower part of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken, burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-grade wire and connectors.

SOURCE: kenmore elite dishwasher wont work

Remove the console panel with T15. then remove the cover from the main control board. top right of center of the main control you will see a removable fuse, either a black disc with a black and a black/w white strip connected. remove one wire from the thermal fuse and check for continuity. if it is open replace it. if it is not open call for service.

Kenmore elite dishwasher stops mid cycle

I assume you mean it stopped in mid cycle and is now dead. If this is the case you will need to turn off the power to the dishwasher and remove the screws holding the front control panel There is a thermal fuse clipped to the front of the control panel Check it using an ohmmeter or continuity tester If it is open you will need to replace it with a kit containing the fuse and wire connectors Do not replace just the thermal fuse the problem will surely return. Also inspect the control board for burned areas. If the control board is burned you should replace the wiring harness with the control assembly

Dishwasher Clean light blinks constantly.

Try turning off the power to the dishwasher at the circuit breaker box. leave the power off for 5 10 mins and then turn breaker back on and try to restart dishwasher. This may reset the board and it may work

Dw stopped in midcycle.

There is a thermal fuse located on the electronic control board housing that may have failed. This replaceable part (gray or white) is clipped on to the side of the housing.
