Question about Computers & Internet
I bought this computer 11/2012 and I also have a laptop. My laptop is a toshiba P505d which is a few years old. When I watch live streaming video such as directv nfl sunday ticket the video will play but will have frequent pauses. I thought it was IE 10 and so I tried Google Chrome and Firefox and the problem was still the same. I watch it on my laptop with no issues so I know it's not my internet connection but rather some kind of setting on the pc. It is a AMD E1 Vision that has much better specs then my toshiba laptop. I called hp tech support and they told me it was a level 2 tech and that it is not covered under my warranty and I would have to pay for this kind of support. I don't feel I should have to pay for something I have owned for one month. Besides this problem I love this pc. Please any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

If you are using windows xp then you need to go to control panel and click on the network and internet connection icon and run the setup wizard. Choose the "other" box when asked and then choose the "I already have a network but no internet connection" box and click next. And last just choose the last box on the bottom of the menu which says just finish the setup. Don't pick the ones that say make a floppy disk or whatever.

This is common with the Inspiron line of laptops. It's caused by over-heating. It is an air flow issue. Two things you can do to help alleviate the problem:
First, with the machine powered down and unplugged, use a can of canned-air to blow the vents and fans free of dust clogs.
Second, install rubber bumpers on the bottom of the laptop to elevate it off the surface. This will allow air to flow freely under the machine and in and out of the proper vents and fans. You can get these just about anywhere. They are just little rubber nubs with a self-adhesive side. Peel and stick.
