Question about Hitachi Televison & Video
There was "no" picture.. i replaced upper and lower bufferboards. the upper board had one burnt chip out of 8.. it now has picture upon power-up but has horizontal lines top to bottom and displays "no ref signal".after 40 secs or so it displays "power saving" and then shuts off. i suspect the y sustain board ???????
Yesthe sustain board should be replaced when the Buffers are replaced especially if the old buffer had a shrted drive IC as that usually damages the Y sus board also.

Yes, you should replaced the Y scan board. I saw your board on Shopjimmy.com but before you ordered it online, check the part no. of your board on the white sticker. Replaced also all filter electrolytic capacitors in the output of the power supply feeding the Y-sustain board.
Watch the video below for more info regarding electrolytic capacitor.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
