Need help adjusting the screen size on a Sony Trinitron KV-32FS13

Help! The picture is larger than the screen so all four edges are cut off. I have the user manual but there doesn't seem to be a way to adjust or move the image on the television screen.

Sorry, could you please explain what the yolk is?

The picture seems too large for the tv screen, as if zoomed in. Miss out on telephone numbers, titles or other items displayed. Tried adjusting the wide angle etc to no avail.

The Tv screen is much smaller during video games than what it is during Movies. Please Tell me how to adjust my screen size.

Movies are shown at a higher resolution than games. That is why the picture is smaller with games than movies. If you turn the Auto Picture Size off, you can set lower grade video to a larger screen size but you will lose quality.
Hope that helps.

Picture is cut off on sides but not top and bottom. The display channel (default 2) is cut off on the side to give you an idea. (purchased it new around 1998-1999).

With TV powered off, use remote control to successively hit DISPLAY, 5, sound volume +, and POWER all within a second of each other. This takes you to the Service Adjust Mode and the first thing that appears is the Horizontal Size Adjustment "HSIZ". Press numbers 3 or 6 to make the picture larger or smaller. Other things can be adjusted by using numbers 1 or 4 to go through the list but you could really screw up your TV so don't do anything unless you are sure about it. When you're finished hit MUTING and then ENTER to save the changes.

Sony Trinitron kv-27HFR blurry

the picture tube is gone.
i repaired 150 sony xbr and kv series with that problem.sony has a single gun not three and has a great pix,but burn out faster.
there is a main screen control that you can adjust ,but the tube is gone.
on the back of the crt there is 3 gun drives r g b .
turn the color all the way down so it is black and white.
if there is a green ore purple tint, one gun is out of balance.
ajdusting the r g b controls so that black and white is normal is what you want to do.
the crt board has the screen bias voltage 800volts on it so be very careful and use an insulated screwdriver to adjust the drive controls.

Sony Trinitron, no picture, sound works fine.

There are potentially dangerous high voltages present inside the set even when unplugged, so caution is required. That being said, if you can solder, you may be able to resolve this. If the picture returns with movement, it is possible that the problem is poor solder connections. Try removing the back and sliding out the main board. Resolder any connections that appear grasiny or have rings. That may resolve the problem.

Keep us posted.

Sony kv-32fs13 chirps and flashes

Hello 0279737,

This problem is caused by a shorted Horizontal Output Transistor. I would suggest that you have this TV checked by a qualified TV technician. This type of problem requires dealing with dangerous voltages, and repair should only be attempted by a trained technician.

I hope this helps

Thank you,

The HOT transistor is shutting it down. (horizontal output transistor)
it cost about 8.00 for the parts and 100 for the labor.

you will require help from a tech.
