don't set for 2 sec, set the camera to 10 sec self timer and click the remote, should work instantly with every click. just remember to set for regular shooting if not using the remote. can be very annoying to wait 10 sec for a shot, unless you want to be in one?

There is a possibility that your are receiving interference from another wireless device that operates on the same wireless system as your garage remote. For example, someone else could have the same system for their garage, especially if you live in a community.

Garage master 1/3 HP Security Plus. Will go with remote, but remote is pushed to close, light flashes. How to reprogram???

You don't need to reprogram. You need to make sure your door sensors haven't been bumped and misaligned. Each of them has a small light that will be lit when they are properly aligned. Tweak them a bit. If the light doesn't come on you probably have a sensor that has quit working.

Garage door opened, won't close

If you can press and hold the wall button and the door will go down, you have a photo eye issue. Check the photo eyes at the bottom of the door.

Question: Can my SB600 flash be used remotely from my d4ox camera? when taking photos?

For wireless flash you need two things:

1) Something to act as the controller.

2) A remote flash.

While your SB600 will work fine as a remote flash, the D40x does not have the 'built-in' capability to act as the controller (as some of the more expensive models do). Unfortunately, you would need a SU800 or SB800 to act as controller.
