My polaris is standing on end sometimes and will not change direction on its own

Make sure that the pool cleaners filter bag is not full of debris. It is likely that you have water in your float head. Remove the head float and shake it. If you hear water in it, you will need to order a new one. order a new one. Make sure that your hose floats are spaced evenly. Your thrust jets are probably not correct, which could make the directions not function properly. Try adjusting the jet and making sure that the sweep hose is sweeping properly.

All wheels on 3900 do not turn together. How do I fix this.

The first step that you should take if your pool cleaners wheels are not turning correctly is to check the wheel RPM. It should be between 30 and 36. If it is lower than 30, open the adjustable valve (if you have one) on your return line to allow more water flow. Also, make sure that your filter, skimmer, and hoses are clear of debris and do not have any leaks or cracks that could change your suction and lower wheel RPM. Finally, you can remove the blue restrictor disk from the UWF.You might also need to adjust your thrust jet if it is causing the cleaner to move more quickly on one side.

Overall poor performance 1. does not go to both sides of pool 2. either hangs up on stairs or after adjusting sits and spins on stair / sides 3.

If the pool cleaner does not cover the entire pool, check the hose length reaches within 6" of the farthest point of the pool. Set your thrust jet for 11:00 position. This will optimize random turning. If it is hanging on the stairs, check the pool cleaners wheel RPM. It should be between 28-32. Verify that the back-up valve is cycling.

My 3900 wil not climb walls

There are two things you will want to check on these pool cleaners. First, verify that feed hose reaches
within 6" of the farthest point of the pool. Secondly, adjust thrust jet to improve coverage.

My polaris 3900 moves across the pool with the front wheel of the bottom, the wheel on the 1 wheel side and the back wheel are on the bottom.

Check your wheel RPM. If the pool cleaners RPM is over 32, reduce the water flow so that the cleaner makes proper contact with the pool's surface. Verify the back-up valve is cycling. Lift the valve out of
the water and watch the jet. It should come on and go off. You might also need to adjust your thrust jet if it is causing the cleaner to lean too far to one side.

It continures all of a sudden to run in a circle and tie itself in a know. I've adjusted the rear nozzle several different configurations but it continues as mentioned. Do I need a new hose line?...

There are several things that you need to check when these automatic pool cleaners are doing this. First, you might need to adjust the thrust jet. It could be that it is releasing too much water at one time and making the unit go in one direction. Make sure that your feed hose is floating properly. When the cleaner is operating, hold it upside down and look into the tube. You should see two distinct, even jets of water. If you do not, you need to have the cleaner serviced by a pro.
