You probably have a clogged vent pipe.

This causes the unit to overheat and shuts down the burners.

Clear all lint from the pipe, the dryer exit inot the pipe, and the pipe exit from the house.

sounds like the lint is blocking the exhaust to outside vent, remove the vent and pipes from dryer and clean.
The second thing that may be a problem is the "thermister" , this is a temperature sensing device that may need replacing, the purpose for this is to prevent fires from overheating.

Hi, the dryer keeps stopping (the timer jumps), only runs for about 10 mins at a time AND the part that worries me the most is that I haven't had to empty the lint trap which I usually do after e

sounds like the vent tubing is not hooked up as it should be and that can cause a lot of lint buildup inside of the dryer parts. take it apart again and clean out all of the lint because this is a fire hazard. make sure that the vent is connected to the lint trap and try working it again. it sounds like maybe the buildup of lint is making the drying hard to do.

I have a kenmore gas dryer model 110.74894401. When the start button is pressed it sometimes makes a clicking sound and the dryer does not start. However, when the dryer does start it tumbles for 15-20...

how old is the dryer?sounds like the motor is bad.i see this when the owner doesn't clean out the dryer,it's not that hard to change out the motor,if it's in good shape and not to old go for it but you gotta clean the dryer out,you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into,if you have a shop vac blow off all the lint on the motor and out of the heating box or tube and vac out all the lint and if the vent line is long remove it from the back of the dryer,go outside and make sure the outside vent is clear and then from the back of the dryer blow out the vent line with a leaf blower,i've seen bird nests blow out of the vent lines, you could have a fire in the dryer or the dryer will run hot and damage parts and your clothes will take a long time to dry.all a dryer does is move air,if it can't your gonna have problems, let me know what you find and how you make out,if i can help you with anything else let me know

The igniter fires the gas, it burns for a minute or less, then stops and won't restart unless the dryer is stopped and restarted? Is this a coil problem?

Sounds like a clogged vent. If you let it run for a few minutes after it shuts off, it will come back on. Your overtemp. thermostat doesn't allow it to work, because the hot air is not being sucked in. But to answer your question, not the coils for sure in my opinion. When coils fail, it won't turn on after 10 min of running or more. Not right away.

Dryer gets hot runs for 10 min, then cools off

Make sure the hot air vent to the outside is clean and has no more than two 90 deg bends in it.
If the vent tubing is restricted, the system will shut off the heat source to prevent a fire.
Make sure you take it apart and thuroughly clean it.
Good luck.

Kenmore Series 80 (110.74882401) heat cycles on only for 10 secs

This is a pretty easy fix and I recently had the same problem. I made a quick video about it. The problem was the dryer was run only a few mins then quit. The dryer limit was tripping because the control thermostat was not shutting down the lower safety limit was tripping and the power from the control thermostat was diverted via the orange wire to the timer motor which kinda caused the main motor to stop. When i ran the dryer in NO HEAT the dryer stayed running and that was my clue as to what may of been happening and that was the problem in a nutshell. My video:
