Where to connect headphones to the Mitsubishi LT 46153 TV

II want to connect either corded or wireless headphones to a Mitsubishi LT 46153 TV set. I am very hard of hearing and watch TV movies and video......no stereo music listening. When the headphones are connected to the TV (no dedicated headphone jacks available on this TV, or on other devices in the system) I want the TV speakers "NOT" to turn off so other's can listen via the built in TV speakers, so this eliminates using dedicated headphone jacks if I had any. I do have analog rca audio output jacks R/L on the back of the TV, but I think the rca analog is line level audio (??), and I would probably need to use a headphone amplifier and plug the headphones into the amplifier, fine I would be willing to do this......But, the question with this set-up is I am using HDMI cables that run from the Comcast cable box (Motorola model DCH3200), to the TV, and from the TV to the dvd player, and also from the TV to a Roku/XR player (for Netflix), no other devices. Now with this HDMI cable configuration ......will this cut off any audio signals to the rca output jacks?? I have spent several hours reading the TV manual and searching on the Mitsubishi web site for the answer to this w/o results. I also could not find an email address for Mitsubishi customer service, and the Mitsubishi dealer where the TV was purchased was no help at all, a pity. Anyway, that is the problem and if you have any ideas or can link me to other's that might have an answer I would appreciate it. As a side bar..... I also have two audio digital output's available on the back of the TV, one is cable (rca jack) and the other is optical, but this hook-up is for consideration, only if I cannot get the rca output jacks to work. Using the ADO jacks would involve using a DAC, this would be doable too. As a last resort I would purchase an inexpensive set of ear buds, or headphones and experiment......this could get costly......and I would much prefer a rifle shot solution. Thanks!

SOURCE: No Picture from Component Input #1 or #2 but do have audio via Surrond Sound

Simplest thing would be that your component cables are not HU'd correctly. Having them reversed would do this.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi HDMI connection trouble

I have the same issue with my 73". Rather then going over all of my connections and equipment I'll just say htat I feel your frustration. I have been on the phone with Mitsubishi directly and it appears as though they have a free software upgrade that should address this problem. If you call 1-800-332-2119 and press 4 in the menu you will get someone to help you. Be patient. They will make you go through all of the fixes that you have already tried. They will mail you a flash drive that goes right into the front USB port of your TV. I hope this is of help. Good luck.

SOURCE: PS3 not recognized by Mitsubishi WD=52525 tv through HDMI

FYI,

PS3 has output settings and would need to be adjusted if you are coming from the RCA input. Check out www.sony.com/ps3 trouble shooting under display problems. I believe the solution is to turn on the PS3 unit and keep holding the I/O button for more than 5 seconds. I had the same issue going the other way.

Good Luck.

How can iI connect the earphone on my tv

Through the 3.5mm headphone jack from your headphones, its a pretty small hole usually to the front of the tv set, being so small you may have to look for it. If it is wireless you will need to connect the main headphone system to the back of your TV (audio in jack) then ensure system is powered on and headphones are charged.

Why does green light stay on when picture is shut off with cable remote from cable box

You need to "pair" your cable remote to your tv. The proceedure will vary with cable supplier. Comcast remotes come with a paper listing codes to put in. Metronet has the following: Press and hold setup until led light blinks twice. press a mode key tv dvd aux. press and hold ok key until the device turns off. Other suppliers, your on your own.

Green light stays on when trying to turn off tv. picture go's off when cable remote is used but green light stays onand you can see that screen is still on?

You need to set up the cable box remote for your TV , now you are just turning off the cable box. Some cable boxes have a switched plug on the back that will turn on and off with the box. If yours has the switched receptacle you can use that to turn the TV on and off by plugging your TV into the switched receptacle. Make sure the TV power is on, the receptacle will kill the power so the clock on the TV wont work. Otherwise you need to set the code for your TVs remote and use the system power button.

The speakers are making a crackling noise that is not effected by the volume

Check the speakers first. If the voice coil of the speaker has any fault, the speaker should be replaced. Connect an other speaker in place of present one, and see whether the crackling sound occurs with it too. If yes, the audio output board to your TV have the fault, and it should be replaced.
