Question about Philips HTS3450 System

Open Question

I have a 6 year old Philips HTS 3450 DVD Home Theatre System. My speakers are in pristine condition although thy have this weird crckling/buzzing noise at the start which slowly fades out. My main problem is the player. I got stuck disc tray, no DVD playback and no USB feature that I'm looking out for. I'm looking for a DVD player from Philips that can be supported with my existing surround sound

SOURCE: hts 3450 home theatre system- dvd in player- but won't come out

When a disk is stuck inside the player , try following the procedure below:

Unplug power cord.
Plug back power.
Turn on the unit and press repeatedly the eject button at the same time. If you successeed in ejecting the disk before the player starts reading TOC(disk initial track), then the disk will eject.
If that does not work, then there is an internal fault, in that case the unit must be taken apart to remove the disk.

SOURCE: philips hts 3450 home theatre system, dvd in player, won't come

if your hts3450 is like mine, the case opens by removing 2 torx screws from side and 3 from the back. however, there is a plastic guard over the dvd area that prevents one from lifting the dvd out.

DVD sledges work by a rubber belt that in your case might have broke or come off. It's very easy to replace. Find the original belt. Measure the diameter in MM (approx) and do a Google search for "Drive belt XX MM".

I have a philips hts 3450 i just bought and i didnt get the speakers is there a way of hooking it to my tv and get it to work

Speakers are an integral part of any home thetre system and are, as such, effictively useless without them. You will need to attach some speakers to it in order for it to work as intended.

Is my tv audio doomed or will the home theatre system work anyways.

some devices these days have a built in volume control, try using your remote for which ever dvd player or satalite bix you use, on push the volume up button on it while you have the volume on the tv maxed out so that you will be able to tell a defference if it works or not.

Philips Home Theatre System - no sound or power light on sub woof

reset the device to factory settings, it is written in your manual how to do this. If that doesnot work, unplug the powersocket for about 30minutes, it will cause an internal reset which might solve it.

Philips hts 3450 home theatre system, dvd in player, won't come

Before you do what I am about to suggest, understand that doing so will void your warranty with Philips. Find out if the product is still in warranty before proceeding - if it IS in warranty, then get it replaced through Philips (even though it is a simple solution):

Unscrew the four main screws on the bottom of the main base that are keeping the main unit together. Open up the case, retrieve the disc. Make sure that you do not knock ANYTHING out of place - you must proceed VERY carefully. Rescrew the case. Voila!

Home theatre but TV without audio outlet

I would suggest that you smash
Philips HTS w/a hammer!
I had better sound from TV alone! Only 2 speakers put out sound from TV. Recordings from DVR can not be heard very well w/all volumes at max. System sucks! You get what you pay for! $2500 LCD TV sounds worse w/Philips HTS than my son's $300 TV! ALL cables hooked up as instucted!!!!
