How do i remove the ink that is being used on Xerox Phaser 8400?
I am able to remove the Ink from the phaser 8400 but not the on that is currently in the used slot. It has been sitting for about a year and used for a year before everyone stopped using it. Could it be stuck. I try to pull it out with a knife but the ink starts brakeing off.

Re: How do i remove the ink that is being used on Xerox...
That would be melted to the front of the print head and would be more prone to breaking. I am assuming the machine has been turned on and the ink loader has been allowed to heat up ?
Warming the ink stick would be the best way to try and remove it, but a partially melted stick is going to be a bit toughter to remove.
The ink loader is not real difficult to get out, if you want to try and to that let me know, I can tell you how to get it out.

The onlty thing I can find close to this is.
Acording to the manual its a ink loader error like your loading the wrong type of ink like the puzzles pieces arent matching and hitting the sensor flags right. Yours by the 8 is referring to the black ink. Anyway go to troubleshooting on the control panel. then to service tools. when in service tools press and hold the up arrow while still pressing the up arrow press the down arrow. the display should say hidden menus. go to diagnostic mode press enter go to funtion menu. then go to clear ISC fault and enter. ISC=ink stick count fault. I hope that helps. Just to let you know Ive had nothing but problems with third party ink and once its in the system its hard to get out so I would watch what im doing with my expensive equipment
I would reload the driver, or switch drivers. Best on an 8400 to be using the most current PS driver. You can find it on the Xerox.com site.
Just click Drivers and downloads, then in the search box type in 8400.
Then click drivers and downloads once again and download the newest driver.
I hate to ask you to do this, but that also sounds like machine software ( firmware) corruption and shutting it off and on could cure your problem also, But yes I know, that wastes ink.
That is a print head tilt error. Either the print head pivot block is contaminated with ink or the wiper blade is tacked to the print head.
Let me know if you want to try to resolve it yourself, I will send you directions.
The best way to remove it is to run a screw into the ink stick and slide it up as best you can.
You can also use a screwdriver and gently break it up and remove it.
Just be as careful as can be. That ink loader is actually pretty tough.
