hello, Nine blinks - Replace D 6116 and D 6301 on the "G" board, do not resolder as this will fix the problem temporary. Or Panel Module Error or Thermal Error. If it is intermittent 9 blinks, meaning sometimes the TV comes on and other times you get flashing, then change the switching regulator on the "G" board or check connections. Make sure the regulator is -12 or -13 (negitive).
There is some problme in G Board (power supply board) in your Sony KP-46WT520 tv that is why standby light blinks 9 times.
If you are handy with electronics stuff repair and can test/ replace parts in circuit board then let me know to provide you more technical info to fix tv problem.
It is rear projection TV that use 3 picture tubes of red-green-blue to show color picture on tv front screen. Do you see standby red light blinking when TV shuts off after showing blue image for a while? If red standby light is blinking, please count it how many times it blinks, there would be 3 seconds pause between blinks so count pause to pause and post it here to find out possible solution. Thanks.
1) This is a CRT based set so there is no "lamp" involved.
2) The standby light should be blinking a repeated count of blinks with a 2 second pause between counts. Please report the exact count here. This will indicate the circiut in which a problem was detected.
With the above information, we can provide you with a more detailed description of the problem as well as the likely solutions and cost.
ask rent a center to send it to their service dept in their city it will get fixed for a small price unlike some of your local tv reapair shops that will bust your head and pocket book (price) just to come take a look at it
