Please try to specify what alphabet keys that are not working. If it extends up to the number keys, then your keyboard is broken and no alternative repair can be done. You need to replace it.

SOURCE: Dell Inspiron 1545 space bar, ''n'' and ''b'' keys suddnly don't work

There isn't any "Known Issues" that I am aware of with that model. Try re-seating the keyboard cable, see if there is any difference:

If no difference, contact Dell if under warranty. If not new keyboards are about $20 on EBay

On my Toshiba Satellite Laptop I have opened and started the computer but can't get past the sign in window because my enter key and space bar won't respond. I can type letters but can not enter...

> hardware problem or software or keyboard?

Experiment #1: turn the computer off. Connect a USB keyboard. Turn the computer on. Use that keyboard to try the 'TAB' key (to move from field-to-field). If TAB works, then try using the SPACE or ENTER keys.

Experiment #2: turn the computer off. Turn the computer on, and look for the message:

PRESS <blah> to ENTER BIOS SETUP

When you see the message, press the <blah> key. On the BIOS SETUP menus, try the ENTER key to "select" a field, to prove that the ENTER key works fine.

Experiment #3: Turn the computer off. Disconnect the AC power. Remove the battery.
Remove the disk-drive. Take the original CD/DVD disk, and start to install Windows to the disk-drive. As you work through the installation screens, you'll need to press ENTER at least once,
if only to acknowledge that installation cannot proceed, because the disk-drive is not connected.
If the ENTER key works, it works.

Experiment #4: Like #3, but connect a different, empty, disk-drive, and reinstall Windows.
If it completes, then your "original" setup has a SOFTWARE problem.

How can i enter the bios setup of my toshiba satellite a15 s1292?

Press F12 immediately after startup. If you can't press it fast enough then start the laptop with the space bar pressed - you should get a stuck key error and a list of options which should include entering BIOS (also called setup).

Space bar is not working, all other keys are working fine.

if the keyboard is too old and if you have used it a lot, then ou have to replace the keyboard. The space bar alone had gone.

You can easily fix your space bar. I fixed mine last month when my daughter pulled it out of the keyboard. I used this video tutorial guide to help install the space bar key back into place. Its really very simple. have a look:

My spacebar issticking.

Yup! you can do that.. carefully... i repeat, carefully pry-upward the space bar using a hard plastic card (I.D cards are best). Clean the hinge with a brush. Press down till you hear a click to return the key back to its position.

Wep key entering

network key is very case sensitive no spaces should be there even if there are spaces or a dash when you see it in the router page but when you are entering it in the laptop it should be continous, and make sure you make a note whether the alphabets are in upper or lower case..since it is case sensitive it need to be entered exactly the way it is setup in the router..
