How do I fix a deep scratch on the screen, it is a wide scratch, maybe like a small toothpik size, when black background is on, it shows as a white scratch, I have tried vasoline, but it does not fill in...
Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do. The LCD surface itself has been physically damaged and no longer works properly. This isn't simply a scratch.
The only solution is to replace the display panel, and they are nearly impossible to find unless you are an authorized servicer working on a warranty repair. There are companies that sell parts removed from sets, but most sets are junked because of bad displays. Since the display is the single most expensive part, if you can find one it may not cost much more just to replace the TV. There's always a sale going on somewhere, and many online vendors as well.
