IMac using o/s lion. Printer was saying off

Hello Justin! Welcome to FixYa!

Actually With the release of OS X 10.7 Lion, HP is providing updated print drivers and software. These updates are available through Apple Software Update in Mac OS X: you do not need to download a driver from HP to use your product in Lion. After the public release of Lion, HP is releasing updated full HP software packages for many models on the HP Software and Drivers page. These software packages include the HP installer with network setup and HP Scan 3. The schedule delay allows time for full testing and quality assurance from HP against the final OS X 10.7 release.
Follow these steps to download and install the HP software in Lion OS X 10.7 for a USB connection.

Turn On your Printer and MacConnect your printer to the Mac with a USB cable (If you get a prompt to download software, click Not Now , and then continue with these instructions.)Click the Apple menu and then click Software Update . Software Update checks for available updates. In the Software Update window, if you see an available HP software update, select it and then click Install .
When prompted, enter your administrator account name and password. After the software updates complete, restart the computer (if required).

Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences .
Click Print & Scan. Click the plus sign, The name of your printer displays. Select your HP printer listed as a USB type, and then click Add . (You must choose the USB connection type for a USB-connected product.)
Click Install , and then click Agree on the software license agreement window to install the software and add the printer to the queue. After the installation process completes, verify that your printer displays in the queue.
(If the product was not added to the queue, Click the plus sign select your HP product, and then click Add)

Now you can use your printer.
I hope this solution helps you and you have clear picture in your mind now
Let me know if you have any confusion in your mind.

Sir, Your Rating as FIVE Stars for this solution and words of appreciation will be esteemed
Thank You for taking my service

I cant scan

All support for the F380 AIO-printer is on next site:
Scan function might be not working, having no scan software installed.
1. Download software plus updates for your printer.
On the support page select:
Software & Driver Downloads
Operating System
> Download the Full Feature Software: this should contain software for
both printer and scan functions, to a location on the computer
> Download updates, to a location on the computer
2. Detach the printer from the computer: take out the USB cable.
3. Uninstall the software for the F380.
4. Install the full feature software plus updates for the printer.
5. Do not connect the printer until installation has finished or only when a message shows up, during installation, to power up the printer and connect the USB cable.

Update caused re-fill cartridge not to work

erase all hp software and re-boot with the printer unplugged and the plug the print in and let windows recognize the printer and stay away from new updates you don't need them if the printer works fine an update wont make it better HP updates are insane and politically wrong. GOOD LUCK

Recently downloaded an driver update, printer stopped printing. using windows XP PRO OS. Lost the original disk software for the printer

You may have downloaded the incorrect driver. I would try using the driver directly from the manf. website. You can find the download here: DOWNLOAD

Have to turn printer off and back on each time I want to print.

Sorry for the delay. It did not notify me when you replied.

Anyway, with the printer ON & you have not yet printed anything, run Software Update. There may very well be an HP Printer Update. Software Update only shows this if the printer is ON & connected. You may also try to manually download it HERE (warning: it is 405MB). It was 71.6MB when I did it thru Software Update. I think it only downloaded the HP updates for the detected LaserJet I've got.
If this still doesn't get it working, Apple is trying to iron this stuff out. People are having problems (as seen in many Apple forums) with the HP & Lexmark printers on 10.5 Leopard STILL! Ridiculous, really. :(

Hp 8250 photo smart printer

That's mean printer is working fine, Download HP Printing Diagnostic Utility and run. Find out the errors which appear after run Diagnostic Utility.

If you still facing then try to updete printer driver or software.

Use Device Update
  1. Do one of the following:
    • Double-click the update .exe file you downloaded from the HP Web site.
    • When prompted by the Software Update utility, accept the device update. The Device Update Wizard opens on your computer.
  2. At the Welcome screen, click Next. The Select a Device screen displays.
  3. Select your HP All-in-One from the list, and then click Next. The Important Information screen displays.
  4. Make sure your computer and device meet the requirements listed.
  5. If you meet the requirements, click Update.A progress bar or other such designator displays.
  6. Do not disconnect, shut down, or otherwise disturb the HP All-in-One while the updateis occurring.
Note : If you disrupt the update, or an error message displays that indicates that the updatefailed, click Contact HPon this page for assistance. After your HP All-in-One restarts, the Update Complete screen displayson the computer and a test page prints from the All-in-One. 7. The All-in-One is updated. It is now safe to use your HP All-in-One.

I hope it will fix the issue. After doing all these things if you still facing the same problem then you need to download printer driver and installed on your computer.

First you have to check which operating system is used with your product? And download software from here ( you need to download HP Full Feature Software and Drivers)

Uninstall the software
Method one

Disconnect the HP All-in-One from the computer.
Click Start , Programs or All Programs , point to Hewlett-Packard , then HP PSC 1500 All-in-One series , and then click Uninstall software .
Follow the on-screen instructions.
If asked to remove shared files, click No . Other programs that use these files might not work properly if the files are deleted.
Restart the computer.

Method two
Use this method if the Uninstall Software option is not available in the Windows Start menu.

Click Start , point to Settings , and then click Control Panel .
Double-click Add/Remove Programs .
Select HP PSC & OfficeJet 4.5 , and then click Change/Remove . Follow the on-screen instructions.
Disconnect the HP All-in-One from the computer.
Restart the computer.

Then reinstall the printer driver again.

HP Solutions Center can not communicate with HP 3500c Scanner

Had exact same problem. Went to HP site and they said to check "add or remove programs" functions (in control panel) and if there are multiple copies of HP software to download their fix. I checked, had multiple copies, downloaded patch and all worked well again.

HP Photosmart 3310 All in ONe - only prints partial

Uninstall the Printer software, all of it via ADD/REMOVE programs, then go to device manager and un-install the printer, plus physically un-install it.

re-0install everything fresh and in the printer software, turn off any options to auto update. If the printers working fine then you dont really need the update.

If it aint broke, dont fix it.

If its under warranty, contact HP or check there site, i'll bet theres other people with similar issues, there may be a fix.
