I guess the question is, how do I fix my problem. My problem is, I can get the truck to start-up. But it won't stay running. It only 'runs' for like 1-2 seconds. What do I do?

Dont know your car or model.

But.... Some info may help.
Ignitions systems apply 12v to Start motor & often supplies 12v around a resistor (wire) to boost 12v to the coil then the ignition key rotates back to another position. Run.
This connects 12v to the ignition system / coil through a resistor to the ignition coil (reduced) to run the vehicle.
This is how older models worked.
So... The ignition key run position may not be providing 12v to the ignition circuit. Car Stalls untill restarted.
Use a 12v test light or multimeter to test primary side of spark circuit.
Newer models may not use these methods any more.

Vw passat 2006 slow to start this morning and this afternoon alarm went off when i locked the car and took 10 seconds to stop


Sounds like the battery or a short in the battery line. The VW alarm will come on if you disconnect the battery. Use a voltmeter (or mutlimeter) to check the battery voltage (red lead on positive pole; black on negative; range on 0-50V). When car is not running, you should see 12V; when car is running, you should see 15V (if the alternator is working). You can also test the battery charge by turning on the headlights. If they brighten when you rev the engine or if the dim when you turn on other electrical accesories, then it is likely the battery.

Failed capacitor on clarke SE 14 compessor


On electric motors with two capacitors, one is a start capacitor, the other is a run capacitor. Start capicitors have plastic cases and are rated from 200mf to 400mf and higher depending on the size of the motor. Run capacitors are in the 20mf to 40mf range and usually have metal cases. If you have an electric motor service center in the area they can recommend what size you should use for the size (HP) motor you have.

When the tank is empyt the compessor comes on with no problem and runs until it's full, once pressure gets low the compessor should automaticly come on and refill, that"s when the compessor comes...

Check and clean or repair or replace your compressor's unloader valve.
The unloader valve is suppose to discharge the compressed air from the tops of the piston heads to the outside to make it easy for the compressor to start when the pressure in the tank drops to the starting point.

I have an amana 90 home air conditioner w/ a amana prestige compressor. compessor runs but cooling fan not turning ,fan is not locked up and unit has power .of course w/fan not turning home is not...


Could be a couple of reasons for this:
1. Condensor fan motor bad.
2. Condensor fan motor loss of power.
3. Condensor fan motor capictor bad.

Unit has control for fan for low ambient operation and unit is low on freon telling fan its cold out side and dont run.

AC blows hot air and compressor does not turn on. Can the AC relay switch be tested or bypassed to see if the compressor turns on?


yes, if you can figure out which terminal is what, you will be able to jump. Be carefull dont send 12v up the wrong wire or you will fry computer. I would pull relay out and jump at the compressor pigtail, its much safer, and the car dosn't need to be running, all your checking anyways is that the clutch is working which should give a click sound every time you tag 12volts.

MY COMPESSOR GAGE SHOWS 135 PSI AND 135 ON THE OUT PUT GAGE BUT I CAN,T INFLATE MY MOTORHOME TIRES TO THE REQUIRED 110#.DO I NEED A LARGER COMPRESSOR?I CAN,T FIND ANY LEAKS.


It is possible that the compressor psi as it is running drops below the tire psi creating a standoff. You must maintain air compressor psi over 110 to fill a tire to 110psi. Add air to your tire but stop when the compressor motor starts to run. When the motor stops then continue to add air until the compressor motor starts and again stop airing up the tire. Repeat as needed.

Air compessor wont start under load it is a airking 3 hp 3ph compessor and will not start under load.


was it running before? what ahpened to it? Is it on 3 phase service or a converter? Does it run with no air in it? Is there a trip for 2 or 3 circuits or just one? I would suspect th epower supply first, and then check the motor to see if it is ok. If it is a converter, they are only good for x amount or hours. Check it out.
