Craftsman overhead garage door opens at random?

There is some interference created by other wireless devices within range of your garage door. This maybe a door bell, baby motor or car immobilizer. Check to see if there are any new wireless devices, it maybe someone Cole by like a neighbor. Alternatively, you can delete the existing remotes from the unit and reprogram the remotes again, this will reprogram the emotes on a different frequency and hopefully cut out any interference. Clicker garage door opener

I don't believe that you need to configure it.
It should be preconfigure to work.
What i think after revising the manual and from past experience with car remotes, the type of socket used for the battery inside the remote itself is often missing or broken solder. To make this more clear, the battery socket might need to be resolder on the small circuit board inside your remote.

good luck

I bought a new Chamberlain garage door remote control (Model 953EV/EVC) but my garage door opener is date 1991. Can I get this remote to sync with it? I have one remote dated 1993 that came with the...

The 953EV/EVC remote is designed to work with garage door openers at 315MHz (more or less). Your older unit doesn't work at that frequency. I'm not positive but it could be 300MHz.

You need a retrofit unit to use the new remote. See https://aclickawayremotes.com/Liftmaster/355LM-2-315-Mhz-Garage-Door-Opener-Conversion-Kit/index.html for one that works with Chamberlain units.

I hope this helps.

How do i reprogram the garage door opener on the overhead console

easy.. first hold the 1st & 3rd button above you for like 20-30 secs until the readout flashes.

then.... hold the button of choice along WITH the button of choice on the garage door remote (held within 3" of each other ) until the display flashes fast.

Try to do this away from your house so your garage door opener doesn't freak out with all the button holding.

Problem solved.

It's the gear drive. There are kits online for about $40, if you're semi-handy you can replace it yourself. Search for liftmaster replacement parts.

My garage door opener does not work may have beem electrical storm. unit has power model 248739

I have Sears Craftsman model 139.58778 and the remote is suddenly not working for no apparent reason. The transmitter in the garage works fine but the portable unit for the car does not. The red light goes on and the toggle switches are correctly set and match the overhead unit setting. Any ideas what is wrong? I purchased a new remote and it did not work either after being correctly set, Thank you!
