You will have to replace the whole chuck.

Rarely, you can load them up with WD40 or the like and work out whatever has the chuck stuck if its small enough or just rust. More likely something got in the threads inside and ate them up. Unfortunately there are no replaceable parts in a chuck.

Generalmente es por oxido, aunque en algunas ocasiones este problema se origina porque se afloja el tornillo de rosca izquierda que sujeta el mandril al equipo. lo justas y ya está

How to remove keyless chuck

open the chuck jaws right up
down the center of the chuck you will see either a philips screw head or a hex head for allen key
hold the shaft at the base of the chuck to stop it from turning and undo the screw in the chuck in a right hand direction ( it is a left hand thread) when you have that out , still holding the shaft turn the chuck in the left hand direction ( normal thread ) and screw the chuck off
to assist in undoing the chuck do it up so that the jaws come out a bit
place something between the 3 jaws to act as a lever or use an allen key in the chuck done it tight and use that as a lever to undo the chuck
the secret is the lh thread screw in side the chuck which stops it from undoing when the drill is in reverse

M1112 chuck .0045 off center

There are three possiblities: 1. dirt interfering with the jaw position or between the jaw and the workpiece - if you loosen, tap the jaw, retighten on your work and the result is repeatable, then this is not the problem. 2. the jaw itself needs to be cut, as you are doing - this will solve the problem and give you repeatably centering so long as 1 or 3 are not the problem. 3. The most insidious problem would be that the spiral groove on the back plate which is supposed to move the three jaws in harmony has a bad spot - this would give you inconsistent centering of the jaws at different diameters and could only be fixed by re-grinding that spiral groove (this would be VERY tricky to do yourself) or replacing the backplate.
good luck!

Mybrand new RZ20 keyless chuck will not close around a bit.

If a large enough drill bit is inserted too far so it bottoms in the chuck, the jaws run into the bottomed shank and will not close beyond a certain point due to the interference. If you hold the drill bit out about 1/2 inch from the bottom, the jaws should close on the bit. I assume you have tested the chuck without a bit to verify they can close.

Bosch 12V cordless drill PSR 1 ?ES-2 One of the three jaws unscrewed a little and protruded beyond the other jaws by approximately 4 mm but has now completly unscrewed and fallen out. I can not unscrew...

It is left hand thread and yes sometimes you have to use a little force to loosen it. I don't know if you will be able to reinstall the jaw from the chuck, I havea detailed instructions on chuck removal in my tip section.

My AEG 630 watt drill SBE630RX. The keyless chuck is seized and will not release drill bit. This is used on a regular basis if this is any help. Many thanks. Trev

The cover on the chuck must be removed by using a punch, tapping around the drill side. this will pop off the cover exposing the jaw's. then use a channel lock and or bench vice on wheel that surround's jaw's. if the chuck is no good it may have a left hand screw in the bore that must be removed to take chuck off.

I cant get the drill to open up to remove the bit. What do i do?

Your chuck is jammed. You can use a punch that is the same size as the jaws and a small hammer. You can tap the jaws back with the punch ever so slightly. Tap on each jaw the same amount of times. Start on one jaw with one tap, then to the next, and then to the third. After tapping each try to turn the chuck to open. This will dislodge the jaws slighlty and you should be able to move it. Keep doing this until you can open the chuck or remove the bit. After removing the bit spray some lubricant into the chuck and work it back and forth the whole length of the jaws. If this does not work you can put the bit in a vise and use a rubber or soft end hammer to hit the chuck off the bit. In this case you will have to replace the chuck. There is probably a bad spot in the jaws that is stripped.

Chuck jaws on Makita 8444D fell out

There is suppose to be a flat head Left hand thread chuck screw in there. It may have fallen out. You will not be able to put the jaws back into the chuck. You will have to replace the chuck with a new one. If you make sure that the chuck screw is not there you can remove the chuck with a couple of steps. Make sure the drill is in it's lowest gear. Use a strap wrench or some large vise grips on the chuck. If there is still one jaw in the chuck make sure it is all the way open and locking the collar to the chuck. The chuck will come off in the regular lefty loosey configuration. It may be stubborn. If this is the case, You may have to cut the collar off the chuck and use a pipe wrench. Or bring it to a professional to get it changed out.

Keyless chuck grip is stripped inside and the chuck is stuck in a tightened position. Can I get a replacement chuck grip and how do I get the chuck assembly off the drill, if that's necessary ?

second question first. No you cant just buy the grip, you have to buy a replacement chuck, shop around for best price, second you have to get the jaws opened up to remove, couple different ways, but first go to Dewaltservicenet.com and type in your model number for a parts explosion. Next if the grip is damaged can you put a pair of pliers on it and turn the collar to loosen it? the jaws have to be retracted to remove the chuck screw (LH threads), what you need to do now is put the drill in the drill only position and the tool in low range. Find a bent handle allen wrench and lock in the jaws, put the chuck on a bench or block of wood and wrench at about a 30 degree angle to strike it counter clockwise, you might have to hit a couple time but this will work. Let me know if I can help further.

How are the jaws replaced in a keyless chuck?

They are not, you need to buy a new chuck. The tolerance is so close on the collar that you can't repair it. On some of the older keyed chucks you could but the jaws cost about as much as a new one.
