Download a manual to see how to get into the setup screen and turn on the USB ports.

Sounds like your O/S was damaged when the old MB failed. I'd boot the computer with yoru system disk and run a scandisk or, in the case of Win Vista or 7, choose the option to repair Windows.

Usb's

Right click on My Computer and click manage.  Then click on device manager and goto the USB section and see if there are any yellow exclamation points.  If there are then update the BIOS drivers.  If you installed the motherboard yourself then check to make sure the front side USB cord was installed correctly

http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=cpuform will tell you but is the board revision a or 1.0b? Get that off the board itself and you are away.

MSI 915o comboAudio front panel

Some cases come with a Mic & speaker jack/ cable. These jacks sit within the case. Rather than using the rear Mic which is (colored pink) & speaker (colored green). These 2 colored cables run from the front of the case & out through an emty hole in the back of the case. Which you connect them to the rear of the boards Mic in (pink) & sound (green). Now you can use your front audio jacks for both mic & sound. This may sound strange but I have come across many cases just like this. Its not uncommon to have 2 front usbs & a 1394 connect on to the board as well. Without your manual I'm sorry I can not help you fauther.
