J 440 treadmill belt moved all the way to left

I noticed the belt was to the left, so I used the wrench and turned counterclockwise on the left and clockwise on the right. This has always worked in the past. The belt moved all the way to the left and started to groove the plastic cover!!!! HELP. I turned it off immediately.

Clockwise on the left tightens, tighter forces away. Counterclockwise on the left would allow it to come to the left.

Set the switch to the "ON" position. Step 2Insert the red key into the slot set into the front of the console. Press and hold the button labeled "+" until the displayed speed reaches 5.0 mph. ad_order_1 = (typeof ad_order_1 === "undefined") ? Locate the two bolts set into the rear panel. Examine the treadmill belt as it moves and determine which direction you wish to shift it. Step 4Select the appropriate bolt for your desired adjustments To shift the belt to the left, use the right bolt; to shift the belt to the right, use the left bolt. Step 5Insert one end of the Allen wrench into the top of your selected bolt. Turn the bolt a quarter turn clockwise. Examine the treadmill belt and determine if it is in the proper position. If necessary, make up to two additional quarter turn adjustments; if the belt is still out of alignment, move to the other bolt and give it a quarter turn counterclockwise up to a maximum of three times. Alternate between bolts as necessary. For make it easy to you have added video. Just watch it.

Belt on treadmill is moving towards the right and bunching up

you need to adjust the travel of belt. to do this you need a allen wrench that came with it. if you have it run treadmill at slow speed,go to the rear right at the right end cap there is a hole, use the allen wrench and unscrew slowly while watching the belt until returns to the middle. if it slips when walking go back to rear and adjust by screwing in one turn on each side until belt wont slip.

My belt is over to one side to much is there and easy way to get it back in the middle

If the walking belt has shifted to the left, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using the allen wrench, turn the left rear roller adjustment bolt clockwise, and the right bolt counterclockwise, 1/4 of a turn each. Be careful not to overtighten the walking belt. Plug in the power cord, insert the key and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is centered. Walking belt on image 10.0 tread mill slips, purchased it used, can see where it has rubbed to the left. How to adjust it?

There are adjustment screws on the very back of the deck… one on each side.

1. You will need a hex wrench that came with your unit (look on the side of the deck) sometimes it is attached to a bracket or look in your plastic bag with your instruction manual. If you cannot find it, do not worry, it is a common “hex” size. Purchase a "multi size” hex wrench at the hardware store"

2. Locate the screws on the back of the treadmill on the deck "where you walk" You will see one on each side.

3. With your wrench in hand, start your treadmill on a low speed and take note of which side the belt is "creeping" to the left or right.

4. If the belt is not centered and over to the left side take your tool and adjust the screw on the left side slowly a few turns until you notice the belt creeping back to the center....usually it does not take much adjustment.

5. Once you start getting the hang of what adjusting each particular screw does to the belt....You will be a pro in no time.

6. Once the belt centered, turn off the treadmill and unplug it. Take your hand and slide it under the belt about midway. The belt should feel "snug" against the deck. If it feels too loose...use your new found adjusting skills to tighten the belt adjusting each side a few turns…unplug…checking for tightness until you feel good about it.

7. Last suggestion: Some treadmills decks need lube to help it run smooth. Without it your deck will get worn and the belt will "stick" to the deck....not good. Buy the lube a sporting goods store or at a place that sells treadmills. If you cannot find any buy some spray on graphite.
