Question about IBM ThinkPad T60 Notebook
Brand new IBM laptop . too slow to browse and in opening files.
To stop unneccesary startup programs go to
Click startup tab and uncheck the app you dont want to run at startup
Click Services tab---->check "Hide all Microsoft Services" Uncheck the services relating to the startup programs.
Make sure you dont uncheck your antivirus or other security software here.
Also right click on my computer----> Click properties--->Advanced
Click Settings beside Performance Settings---Adjust for best performance.
Next click the settings for virtual memory under the advanced tab
Set a custom page file size equivalent to the amount of RAM in the computer (1GB=1024MB) So if you have 2GB type in 2048 in both boxes and click set.
Reboot the computer

Probably due to all of the stuff in your startup folder a new pc comes with. the less stuff in your startup the better. you may need a memory upgrade of 1GB or less. I would go at least to 2GB of RAM

The computer may be running slow for a lot of
reasons. A simple quick fix is: Make sure you have an updated anti-virus & malware,
