SOURCE: Blades won't turn

If the problem is that the blades are jammed and you can't turn them manually, you can let it sit ( and dry out ) for a few days, or you can try adding some oil. I had the same problem and this worked. My problem now is that the blades don't reach to where the motor is turning, so even if they're not jammed the don't turn. If anyone knows and answer to this I'd appreciate it.

SOURCE: blade wont stay in Bosch 1882VS jig saw

From your description I cannot say for certain, but it sounds as though you are not locking the blade correctly, or the blade lock mechanism is broken. You can tell if the blade-lock is working by clicking it. It should make an audible "click" that you can feel. Also, you can pull on the blade ( with the saw UN-plugged of course!) and feel if it is properly seated. If you are operating the blade-lock according to the instructions and it still doesn't lock positively, see a service center before you use the tool again. A broken blade-lock could be dangerous.

Clutch spring

I am guessing that this is a problem that has just appeared. In which case it sounds like the spring may be worn out. The linkage itself may be worn out also. Check to be sure that nothing is loose, nuts, bolts, you get the idea.

I thought the drivers side blade had become loose, causing it to gouge into the lawn. I checked the blade rotation, and it seems that the blade 'shaft' is tweaked? Is this possible? The blade mounts tight...

It could be spindle or blade is bent. I would check blade first then spindle. This is not uncommon. Hitting a branch or something while mowing can bend one of these. Hope this helps. Good luck.

MTD 42" CUT MOWER MODEL 42A707 TYPE 1238 01 CODE960 2085A. 1) Mower blades do not stop spinning when deck is raised all of the way. 2) Left blade intermitantly makes a horrible noise when cutting grass...

I think either the bolt holding the left blade onto the spindle is loose, or the cup washers under that bolt are flattened or missing. As a result, the blade is slipping on the shaft and probably making a squeal or squawk. Take off the deck, flip it over, and remove the blades. Note if the bolts seem tight. And look at the washers stacked under the bolts. Replace any missing washers, or flattened cup washer. Make sure the cup washer faces the right way (hollow side toward the blade). Tighten things back up securely - it takes a hefty pull on the end of a 2 foot long wrench to get enough torque.

Metal nail fell into the garbage disposal.

Just above the motor par of your incinerator there should be 3 or 4 small bolts or srews that holds the main motor onto the waste chute TURN OFF THE POWER. Remove these bolts to seperate the motor and you should be able to remove the nail. Please, please make sure the power is off.

Need to change saw blade, lost instructions

1st, !!UNPLUG the saw!! Wear gloves to prevent nicks from contact with the saw blades.
If this is a handheld 'skill-saw' type saw, use a piece of wood to chock the saw blade from turning as you use a proper size socket/wrench to loosen the bolt which holds the blade.
The bolt will loosen counter-clock wise. It will probably be very tight, and you will have to use some effort to loosen it.
Remove the bolt, lift the follow guard and remove the blade.
Replace the blade with a like size diameter blade by raising the follow guard, inserting the blade, replacing the bolt, using a piece of wood to keep the blade from rotating and TIGHTEN the bolt. You will almost feel as if you need three hands to accomplish this procedure but its been done millions of successful times.

Good luck. :)
