SOURCE: Panasonic DVD Recorder

We need to narrow down where the problem lies. Even without finalizing the disc, you should be able to play back the recording. Can you do this? If you can play back the recording, the problem exists in the finalization stage and we'll need to concentrate there. Pplease update this and we'll proceed to the next step.

Thanks,
Dan

SOURCE: Panasonic DMR-E85 DVD recorder TV Guide problem

Try unplugging the DMR-E85 power cord. It is important that you unplug it from the back of the recorder, not the wall. Leave it unplugged for 10 or 15 minutes. For good measure disconnect the cable 'in' connection as well. Once both lines are plugged back in it will go through its self-check diagnostics. Leave it alone for awhile (give it time to consider the error of it's ways). If you are lucky, when you turn it back on it will ask you to verify the channel lineup. If this does work, and all the channel info is correct, press 'enter' (lineup 1 highlighted). Good luck! This is an awesome machine, WHEN IT WORKS!

Is the Remote Control sensor in direct fluorescent lamp light or other strong
sources of light?
Press unit POWER button down over 7 seconds. The POWER indicator goes
out. If the Power was On, the screen will also disappear. After 5 seconds, turn
Power On and operate unit normally. If the steps above do not restore normal
operation, disconnect then reconnect the AC plug and turn the power On.

If that does not work, Panasonic offers free tech support 6 days a week 1-800-211-7262 (pana).

How do i make my panasonic dvd recorder dmr-xw390 region free?

In Australia you can contact the nearest Panasonic service agent and, according to service consultant on the telephone, they will fix it to multi region in about 15 minutes at no cost. Only catch is you have to take it to them and that might be an across city trip.

I have the DVD/VHS recorder/player Panasonic Model DMR-E75V, I have connected the 2 scart cables to the digital decoder and TV set but I cannot record even if I can play the VHSs and DVDs normally. It's a...

First of all you have to connect only one SCART cable ( one end to TV and the other to DMR ).When you are watching a program on TV select the DMR source ( input selector ) to SCART. Just press the record button with a blank DVD inside and it will record. Some Digital broadcast might have copy protect content which will prevent the recording from happening.

Tv guide not working

I get this problem from time to time when I have more than one Panasonic DVD recorder scheduled for programing (or updating) at the same time -- or recording when the other would be updating. It is really annoying. If I restart from the beginning and disconnect the other recorder, it works fine. It appears to me that they interfer with each other in some way. Sorry, I don't have a real solution -- just that my DMR-EH55 will download the TV guide and work again if I disconnect the other panasonic recorder.
