Re: How to install a MicroSD card on a Samsung SGH-A707
Hello!
In order to reformat your memory card, you will need to buy get a card reader. You can find one at almost anywhere that sells computer accessories. Your Samsung will take up to a 4GB card, so if you have a 4GB, 2GB etc, it should work fine.

I have spent nearly an hour searching and can't find the information that I am looking for. My theory is that you have the wrong type of card or the card is much too big. This is an old phone and card sizes and speed formats have jumped ahead of the hardware. Sometimes card have to be formatted via settings in the device. It will be either FAT or FAT32.
Go the manual and put 'memory card' on the search box
If you hold your phone with the front lcd facing you (don't flip it open), on the right side of the phone there's a media player/profiles button/key, above that is the cover for the MicroSD slot.

Do you have a card reader in your pc that you can put the card in? And of course the adapter to convert microsd to sd card size? If so then just put the card in pc, right click on the icon when it appears in your "My Computer" folder, left click "format" and format the card there. It's possible that the data on the card got corrupted somehow and maybe why the phone is having trouble reading or reformatting it. If the card still doesn't seem to work after putting songs or pictures on it, try using the card in a compatible mp3 player or a friend's phone with a microsd card to see if the card works, if it does then the problem is probably with your phone. I have heard about compatibility problems with some phones and certain brands of microsd cards, not sure if this is one of them. Hope this helps.
I'm having difficulties with this also... What exactly is a card reader?
im trying to reformat it but my phone will either freeze or say error.
