Question about Microwave Ovens
I have a Whirlpool G2 microwave and when in use the unit the display will blank out and will reset no error codes displayed. Sometime it will come back up and try to run where it left off, but will reset immediately after that.
I have pulled the 1100w inverter board and looked for hot spots but did not find any. I pulled the control board and same thing.
I ohmed out the magnatron and I show 0 ohms to the coil and infiniy from coil to chassie.
This is likely a problem or loose connection on the control unit circuit board.

If it goes dead almost
immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted
If it goes dead several seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.
Here are some links you or someone you know can use for test help, but read their safety warnings first:
(if bad, it will be shorted)
There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.
You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

Be sure when testing these switches that they are not 'in circuit' to get a valid reading. If the monitor switch does not open when the door is closed, it should blow the fuse when the cook circuit is energized. If the secondary interlock switch does not close to zero ohms, it won't complete the circuit correctly.

Hello Arold - Typically, error code SE indicates a shorted keypad. Try resetting the microwave by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. This usually clears most false error codes. Wait approximately ten minutes and if the error code does not clear, I would recommend contacting a professional to proceed further. Most likely the touch keypad on the unit will need replacing.
